Ya know, for a bit over a year, my Sunday ritual was breaking down 3 Kayfuns for PM. I'd clean every part, dry burn, re-wick, and fill for the following weeks journeys. That's prolly 2 hours a week of my life I'll never be able to get back lol.

I have 4 total; 1 authentic kayfun Lite+, 2 - EHPro kayfun Lite+ v2's and a no-name kayfun Lite (not the +). The only one that came close to the taste of the authentic was the no-name (prolly because the EHPro's had that flat topped chimley). So I dragged out my authentic a while back but I've lost "the knack" for wicking or maybe I just prefer the Kabuki now but it's back in storage and out of rotation.

I must be the odd one --- maybe I got a bad coil.

I bought a couple and I tried the Avid nauti coils months ago. Only used one, for a day or less. Reminded me of using an ancient 510. Plus it got harsh really fast---and I abandoned, not willing to go through the trouble and effort of "fiddling" or learning how to fiddle.

This renewed spurt of delight may get me to find the second coil and give it another chance.

I don't like to fiddle even though I have built coils. I am still using cartotanks too.

The only thing I noticed with the kabuki is that I need to drop my nic with it.

I noticed I had to drop my nic down too:)

The Kabuki does give you more flavor, and with that, it also seems to be a bit more efficient with nicotine delivery as well. As the designer, I've been using it in one form or another for the past year, and My juice consumption has reduced by about 7Ml per day. (roughly 50% for me) I suspect that if I lowered my nic to compensate my consumption would go back up...

I finally encountered a coil that would not fire in either of my Ti Minis, even after pulling the firing pin.

It was an old style cotton-wrapped ceramic coil, so slightly shorter than current production from Aspire.

Swapped over to the P3, it fired right up.

Bob is, once again, my uncle.

Is the Aspire coil the only one that fits the Kabuki? Will a GS Air coil fit it?

I don't believe so, ML. It's the Nautilus coils (not the smaller BVCs), which (from what I recall) are a bit larger than the GS Airs.

Someone else may know differently though, since we've now heard rumors of an almost unbelievable pairing (yet to be confirmed). Anything is possible.

Intriguing, what is this rumored pairing? I must've missed it...

I love stirring a pot! :D

SUPPOSEDLY (< operative word) the Kanger Subtanks will take the small Aspire BVC coils (which just happen to be some of my absolute favorites).

Kat has been investigating this, but I don't believe the (Twisted...) source has been up-to-the-minute responsive.

I'm having a hard time believing that Aspire coils would work in a Kanger tank, but hey - whodafargam I? If so, I'd be interested (I like the looks of those tanks).

Well it just so happens I have both of those things (STM takes ordinary protank coils which I can build with my eyes closed). It's firing!I have a bell cap on mine and it doesn't screw right down so it might leak over time (or need a bigger o ring on the base?).

Thanks Kates!!!

Given that, I probably won't mess with it. Tinkering is not something I'm fond of (at least not in the vaping sense). But GREAT information and MUCH appreciated!

No -the gap looks rubbish - you probably could grind down the central tube or something (but way more than I am capable of or want to do). I must admit I learnt to rebuild to make sure I was always going to be OK but I have been really spoilt by the Kabuki - great vape - no tinkering!

Yes. When I heard RBA quality with "RBA'ing", I jumped.

I'll prep for the apocalypse accordingly, should it become imminent. In the meantime, blister-pack me until the cows come home.

It's a bit closer for us - from May 2016 no tank over 2ml so no Kabuki? Time will tell how it's interpreted and if TW can affect with their legal challenge but as it stands at the moment Europe is balanced on the precipice :(

I just don't get it. Even after the BBC reported the spectacular findings on the benefits over smoking. Makes us wonder....

The BBC have also done some very biased reporting in the other direction (as has the rest of our media). The public heath report was not published by a government department who seem incapable of understanding the reality of vaping and don't even get me started on the EU fiasco. The problem at the moment is that we legally have to implement the EU directive (which was in place well before the latest positive reports) unless of course we vote to leave the EU when we have the referendum....so from May '16 no tanks over 2ml and 'tamper proof' (whatever that means), no e-juice in bottles over 10ml, nothing over 20mg nicotine, potential bans on internet sales etc. Scary times...and one of the reasons I'm keen to buy reliable gear. I can stock up on coils but I need tanks that will last. Lol, think I've just talked myself into buying another kabuki.

Very interesting. I read this was possible but I don't have any of those coils. So the gap is between the glass and the base? I'd be ok with that because the seal is at the O-ring. I might just have to take a ride to a B&M and pick up a single coil to play with...
