I ordered one to play with, can always grab another if it works out.
I've received mine (took about a month and a half to get here) and after 4 attempts, finally have it coiled and wicked. Will be trying it soon. Those screws are tiny - you need a very small|thin bladed flat head screwdriver (and it wasn't obvious - at least to me, how to attach the coil (1.5Ω 28g 2.5mm 5 wraps).

I have more interest in this now after Black Thursday but I am a bit leery of the whole thing. First: China. Second: I've seen a couple of people sharing their experience (can't remember where at the moment) and neither were impressed. Both stated that to build it you'll need the dexterity of a brain surgeon due to the lack of real estate, and after all that it didn't perform as well as the factory coils.

Nice concept, though.

I mentioned in this thread a while back that Aspire was going to release an update of the nautilus tank. They have now posted some pictures and information.

No mention is made regarding the coil compatibility, but at a cursory glance they don't appear to fit into the current Nautilus (and thus Kabuki)

The coil design is a bit interesting, but I haven't decided if there's any advantage to the changes other than being able to say "it's all new!" They have lengthened the vapor path, and if I understand Zen correctly he was trying to do the opposite when he designed the Kabuki.

Also, all the air is being drawn through the top instead of the bottom. I've seen a lot of people comment that top flow gives inferior flavor compared to bottom flow.

Aspire - Aspire Nautilus X

New Nautilus for no real reason IMO.

I am honestly considering finding a retailer that will sell me 100 boxes of Nautilus coils on the cheap and just be done with it. I have 20 packs now, but another 100 will give me well over a decade of vaping.

I like my Kabukis, been there done that with 200W mods, have lots of RDA/RBA/RTAs.... But mainly love just like plopping a $2 Nauti coil in a Kabuki every week or so and just vaping. Easy peasy.

If you get month's out of a factory coil, you would likely get a year or more out of a rebuildable. With just a few wick changes.
Agreed!!!

And a BIG POCKET full of Dollars too!!!

Oh I used to. I had a coil in a Kayfun that went almost a year. The only reason I changed it was to get it just a little lower, went from 1.6 down to 1.3 ohms.

The point is, I prefer the simplicity of dropping in a fresh coil when needed now and appreciate the great flavor I get from my Kabuki's. Did the building thing for over a year and got the T-Shirt, now simplicity is the key...

I get it. Because I have both. The rebuidable seems simpler to me. Just my opinion.

Looks like everyone is stocking up for the vapocalypse
I expect expendables like coils to be in short supply heading forward. Kind of like what happened a few years back with ammunition.

Just ordered a LGH2 battery and 10 glass Kabuki tanks from ProVape. :censored: it! Business as usual, for now. We are waiting to see if H.R. 2058 goes through or not before making any rash decisions.

Next month, after the warranty on our first P3's expire, I'm going to make Jackie pick a customized Radius. I'm not interested in one (going to stick with my P3's) but it will fit Jackie's vaping profile. Weather we go through the black market or make our own juice if H.R. 2058 fails, nothing wrong with having many ProVari's going forward.

CG,

I have watched from afar...

I used to feel just as you do when it came to being able to seeing what was going on with my vape.

Volts, Watts, Ohms and the like.

Now, with my Radius, I just taste it and adjust it blindly. I don't even want to know where the power is set. I just adjust to taste and Vape. The Radius allows that.

I would recommend that you give the Radius a try based on that alone. (After dialing in to taste with the Radius, it sets the standards/power level for my other ProVari Devices.

I am on the fence with the Radius. Still waiting on the skinny for the ZNA-PRO. I only have the Gem RTA, Stumpy RDA, and Nautilus that are 510 threaded. Everything else I have is Z2 thread.....
A Z2 to 510 adapter would be welcomed by me.

Or even a Z2 to P3...

If this goes thru as it stands now going back to 2007 as being the standard it will be a nightmare. But I can rebuild not great but I don't do it enough to nail it every time but if forced to I would get it and I'm sure I could diy my own juice. If I were Provape I would just become a flashlight company wink wink.

OK, so a question delving into the tremendous shared knowledge here.

I had tried building my own coils a while back but didn't have the patience and maybe not the dexterity for it to be anything I wanted to continue. But after Black Thursday I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row for the years ahead.

Considering that I am expecting the same great flavor and tight draw that I get from a Kabuki, which RTA would be the best for me? I've seen lots of recommendations for Svoemestro and GG, but I have no idea if they are something a beginner could have any luck with. I absolutely will not fuss with coils and cotton for 15-20 minutes unless there is no other option.

So what say you all? I have to have great flavor, a nice tight draw, a warm (not hot) vape, and on top of that something that you don't need months of experience to get right. Am I asking the impossible?

I don't want to take any business away from Mike, but this thread contains a whole bunch of people who seem to have the same vaping style as I do. Mods, please remove this message if it is offensive in any way.

Ti GEM by Mark Bugs is what I use when I am not using my Kabuki. It gives me excellent flavor/vapor. It beats the Kabuki but thats like comparing apples to oranges. As far as prebuilt coils go the kabuki is king(imho) RTAs have a learning curve that takes a little trial and error to get right.

I'll second Astro on the Kayfun Mini V3. Fairly simple to build, despite the fact I'm not great at it. I'm not giving up on the Kabukis either. I have a bunch of 'em and love 'em. But I did order a second KFM3 today just in case...
