I bought that album because of that song. And Lita Ford.
I have officially nicknamed my SS Kabuki

yeah. Other than deeming, possibly ruining the Kabuki, that sharp edge is the one serious Kabuki defect in my opinion. Don't know why it wasn't smoothed out.I have officially nicknamed my SS Kabuki

A paper towel wrap or a rubber grip negates the hazard. The new silicone rings make it a lot easier, but if you have the older rings... just grab a piece of paper towel and twist it off. You can also use the supplied tool. Insert in the air adjustment screw and turn. If the tank is new lube the rings with juice.yeah. I'm starting to wonder if we are ever going to hear from @Zen~ again, I was hoping something extra special would hit the streets before my B-day...
I didn't smoke in high school (at least not ever in front of anyone). I started sneaking smokes from my dad when I was a junior, but didn't buy my first pack until I graduated. My high school had a huge circle in the front where the smokers congregated. There were as many teachers in that circle as there were students. I wasn't kewl then. I'm not kewl now. I didn't inherit the kewl gene.
Ok, I can't take it anymore.
I typed something and deleted it real quick. Thought better of it. If one could delete a post without going through a rain dance, I would have.Huh???
So no answer to my cereal question (other than "nope")? ooooooooooookay.
Welp, same road, but slightly differing forks, ck. My permanent scar is on the next knuckle. Tonite's adventure in Kabuki Land were amusing, to say the least. Not even the grip of a nitrile glove could pry that bottom cap off. It took all my strength and a ZenWrench to get that thang freed.
The VERY next step was to replace the standard O-ring with a siliconia. Damm, those things are wonderful!! Anyone want a thousand standard Kabuki O-rings? (just joking...... sort of.)
Were your ears burning? Or were those mine...... Not 10 minutes after you posted this, and with no time on ECF, I asked the identical question.
So, @Zen~, where ya be? How's trix? What's new? We miss you!
You, dahlink, are MUEY kool. Always have been, always will be. <wub>
I tried to re-build them and did get a working coil, but it was no where near as good as a factory coil. The shells are difficult to take apart for starters. Another thing is the rubber grommet that captures the leads, I would not trust strait resistance wire in such a build, too much chance of a hot leg burning the rubber and you get to vape that. The res-no/res wires I have are too thin to make a good vertical coil so the vape had a harsh, somewhat burnt taste to it. I thought about somehow blocking two of the four holes and trying a horizontal coil build in there, but then my PT2 heads are so much easier to re-build I said, why bother. Nauti coils are a convenience item, use and toss.Have any of you gurus rebuilt a Nautilus coil, and by that I mean an old, spent, used, ready-for-the-garbage coil? (I'm not looking for info on the VVTF, just Nautilus coils as they are.)
I've found some old vids, and of course Rip is excellent, but he builds from new, and the interior of his coil does not look like the ones we have now.
I understand how to disassemble it, but my questions have to do with exactly where the coil sits inside the barrel.
Might I pick a brain or two around here?
