90% of the time I am using tastyvapors atomic fireball 48 nic with 10% vg and mix it with the 50% vg doubler. I also have tobacco, cafe machiatto, blueberry cheesecake, vanilla frosting, bananas foster, and strawberry which are all 35% vg from TV. I will mention that AFB is almost colourless.

I just placed an order with ecopure and it should be here tomorrow. I will let you know if it affects my breathing in anyway.

Just a thought, there are lots of people that are allergic to food colours such as the red colour found in koolaid. I know my sister is highly allergic to this particular red. Allergies can show themselves in many ways such as difficulty breathing, hives, stomach ache, and headache.

Have you ever had an allergy test done on your back or arm?

Count me in as another with shortness of breath and tightness in chest. My doctor says my lungs are clear, though. He assumes COPD from 30+ years smoking. Luckily, he approves of my e-cig. :)

I haven't smoked analogs since early June and up until a couple months ago I was doing great. The nasty cough was gone by the end of the first week and I could scamper up two long flights of stairs without a problem. Now, there are times when loading the dishwasher or eating too quickly can wipe me out for 3-6 hours.

Doc's sending me to an allergy specialist just to be safe. At this point I don't know what the heck is going on. I mainly use a 510 and a variety of juices from all the major vendors. PG/VG doesn't seem to matter.

Eventually I may have to give up vaping but I won't go back to analogs. I'll just craft together a nicotine patch shirt and deal with it.

A little VG with HIGH flavor is what I think did me in, just as info. After that though, even when I tried to vape my old standby I'd have coughing fits and unbearable shortness of breath for hours. This would happen even after a few very shallow puffs. I've been vape free since last thurs now, and I am finally breathing pretty well. Hey, I'd buy a nicotine patch shirt ;)

Synf, I agree, which is why I went to the dr last monday. He found no evidence of bronchitis or asthma, just couldn't seem to breathe well. I have a lung capacity test thurs. Since I have stopped vaping several days ago, I am breathing much better now.
Yes, I am tired all of the time, but that is because we have had 2 hours of sun all month, I think. I'm hybernating!!

No shortness of breath but I'm so tired, I sleep constantly. Anyone else?

Yes I was already messed up before I quit analogs but now I could sleep constantly. I feel different all over. In fact I feel so weird in new ways I might go back to analogs for awhile to see if I perk up. I have never felt quite like I have the past month and I already did the doc thing, nothing is overtly medically wrong its not depression etc...it has been like a gradual lethargy/SOB/wheeze/ just overall "I'm not me anymore" feeling. I tried everything, nothing helps.

It is quite unfortunate that many PV users are having issues. To those going to see their doctors and having tests performed, please update us with your conclusions. The more information we have, the better.

I don't think there are a great deal of people having these problems, but, rather a small percentage, which is usually expected when you are dealing with some unknowns.
Hope you ALL get straightened around very soon.

I have not experienced anything but positive effects since starting to vape. I have said this before and I will say it again. Please do not attribute any side effects to vaping. Only your doctor will know for sure, so dont hesitate to go see him/her. It really is important. Just because you started vaping, it does not erase the damage we have done to ourselves from all the years of smoking tobacco.

As far as an increase in sleeping goes, this happens to me every winter. As soon as spring arrives, I will be alive again and waking up with the birds! I think this is especially true for those of us that live in colder climates and less sunlight.

So as i stated beforein a previous post, i thought it was the Vg giving me the Shortness of breath. Today I started thinking, What if its not the Vg At all. What If its the distilled Water. I noticed the Vg mix I vaped, when i exhaled it felt more like a fine mist than a vapor. I could feel what seems to be water getting on my hands when i exhaled into them. So I mixed some Vg with PG. Approx. an 80/20 mix and vaped it for a while and no shortness of breath. I then mixed a 50/50 which i dont recommend as its a really thick liquid and can damage the atomizer prematurely. Vaped it for a while and nothing. I mixed a whole dram of loranns apple flavor with some pg and Vg and again no shortness of breath. I did this as someone was concerned with the flavoring, saying they wondered if the flavorings where causeing the SOB. Well I been vaping it for a while and Nothing. The vg mix i made with water almost immediatly caused the shortness of breath. I think It may be possible that the water vapor is getting in the lungs and causeing a drowning effect. A friend started vaping with me, argued that the water vapor doesnt effect you when your in a steam room. I said, "maybe because its a hotter vapor so it evaporates quickly befor it can collect in the lungs. Just like a plate washed with hot water dries faster than one washed with cold water. I noticed the liquid mixed with water also, when exhaled came out colder than the pg liquid did when exhaled. The SOB does clear up in a day or so, but water in the lungs is bad. I will keep posted if there are any changes. I like the Vg mixed in the liquid, as it gives a more consistant Vapor, but there is a huge difference for me with the Drying effect using the VG vs. Just PG. My mouth and throat, as well as my lungs feel noticably dryer. I think i may have to steer clear of VG.

P.S. someone asked where i got the VG. I got both the VG and PG i use from Lotion crafters. It was a good price and it is USP grade.FOr around 60 dollars i was able to make 32 30 ml bottles of e-liquid in 6 of my favorite flavors. Sadly i will have to scrap this liquid as it was mixed with water.

Oh and those of you with the same SOB problem, try mixing some liquid without water and see if the changes i experienced happened. i would like to know. Im no scientist, but maybe together we can discover the Problem and how to fix it. For me i think its the Water. the VG liquids you buy are usually always mixed with water because the VG is to thick on its own. I bought some liquids from the perfect electronic cigarette site and he uses a 50/50 blend and i never had problems until i mixed my own and add water to the mix.

Bellasin - I know, its like a deep (DEEP) depression, could it be withdrawell from cigs???? I could sleep 24/7. It kinda scares me.

Yes, I remember feeling like that not long after I started vaping.

It sounds like nicotine withdrawl. It can cause everything you mentioned.

I read a couple of your posts in another thread, from a few weeks back. I could relate to what you described. It sounds like your nicotine level is too low. When I bumped up from 16mg to 24 mg, I started to feel better by the end of the day. By the third day, I felt pretty good.

Smoking a couple of cigarettes will help to increase the nicotine, but that was not an option for me. I cannot stand the smell.

Don't turn into a couch potato.

If increasing your nicotine level does not help, make a doctors appointment.

Two things come to mind immediately: One, thyroid. Cigarette smoke contains a stuff called Thiocyanat (probably Thiocyanide in English) that activates your thyroid gland. When you stop smoking that stuff is no longer present, making you hypothyroid for a while, until it works properly again.

Two, WTA, X-factor, whatever it's called. Probably the MAOIs in whole tobacco which are missing from vape. Quite powefull anti-depressants, and very likely the reason about 20% of all vapers cannot quit tobacco entirely. Good thing is, it doesn't have to be cigarettes. Smokeless tobacco works fine, and fairly little amounts, too.

I'm a noob, but have made some observations between PG and VG. On the carts with PG, they seem to disperse a lot quicker than with even a percentage of VG. The vapor from VG seems to linger around a lot more than with PG. So, with that in mind and this stuff gets inhaled, perhaps the VG is getting absorbed more than with PG and could explain, or partially, the SOB issue.

Interesting info...I have wondered if something was affecting my thyroid, I have gained 30lbs eating the same way I always have, plus my eyes hurt again and I am so tired that my life may as well be over. I feel cold constantly and have night sweats in my sleep. I had every symptom of Graves disease 18 mos ago and weighed 145 at one point. Went to endo doc, biopsy,scans,etc...but since all my labs were very low yet w/in normal range nothing was done. I recently tried an iodine tyoe of supplement which did nothing. If the labs are "ok" docs ignore you even when your results are so low they barely even register in the normal range. Could I just put some tobacco from an analog in my mouth and suck it? I know nothing about smokeless.

I haven't been here for over a month, after joining and asking a few newbie questions. I've been vaping and enjoying it, but I also am experiencing shortness of breath....at night. I have read many of the posts in this thread, and they describe what I too am experiencing. I'm glad to see a discussion of this here. I am only taking a few puffs, like 5 or 6 from the ecig per day now, and could probably give it up entirely, though I've enjoyed it. I'm going to try to stop vaping in order to see if the shortness of breath eventually goes away.
In the past while smoking analogs, when I'd quit, after a few days smoke-free, I'd often experience intense anxiety accompanied by shortness of breath. This feels much the same, and someone..Axl?...mentioned the anti-depressant qualities in tobacco.
Regardless, I know I'll never go back to tobacco. I may, however, give up the ecig, which, I started in hopes of smoking cessation, and it seems to be working.
