I'm a happy new vaper. I have only vaped a couple kinds of juice, both 90% PG and 10% VG. I just got some new juices that are a 50/50 mix, and they make me cough when I vape. Has anyone else heard of this reaction to a higher VG content? Clearly I don't have an allergy (I cough a little after exhaling and am immediately fine), but I wonder if perhaps something else is the irritant.

I realize that this has a simple solution, but I just don't want to rule out every single juice with more than 10% VG if it isn't the culprit.

Hi Anima, I have issues with VG too, sometimes. We are not normal!

Thank you for this! All over the forums there are reports of intolerance for PG, but I couldn't find anyone else who reported a problem with VG.

How much VG do you find you can tolerate? I know 80/20 mixes are "standard", and as I mentioned I tolerate 90/10 just fine.

It varies. I think some places may add something to the heavy vg juices to enhance flavor and that is alot of the problem. Or maybe there is just issues with the vg used- different brands? Randomly I can do Copper Creek at 60/40 with no problems, but normally I would have to cut a juice that high with some pg. If I drastically increase my water drinking, that helps. I order and diy 80/20 or 75/25 to be safe now, with the one exception. One day I hope to figure out what the deal is, but in the meantime they say the atties and carto's last longer with high pg, so good for us!
BTW, I plan to order some flavor enhancers for diy to see if that's when the trouble starts! Pg is a better flavor carrier, so it's less needed in heavy pg juices. So if I add some and things go wonky- clue.
