Anyone else here never actually smoked?

I caught the vaping bug off my partner who caught it off our friend and now we've both kinda sold our souls a little - but neither of us have ever even smoked cigarettes lol.

People seem to find this so weird considering most vapers start by trying to quit cigarettes. Had a dude ask me outside TGI Fridays if my ecigarette "actually worked" for my regular cigarette cravings and I had to awkwardly mutter ".......I've never smoked a cigarette in my life" whoops.

Any other converts out there who are not former smokers? Just find us a little funny.

Ahhh right, I'm actually having gear issues at the moment lol that's how I ended up here to troubleshoot, so I'm currently just blowing mediocre plumes of vapor.

I started on 12mg of nicotine 'cause I started by just using my partner's on occasion, now we've both made an order with some 18mg liquids to see how we feel about it tbh

Probably would've just started on 0mg if I'd picked the habit up by myself but there ya go

Yikes! I bet you'll soon regret having started this thread. Haha! Non-ex-smokers get a lot of flack here. I smoked on and off since I was 13, but since it wasn't a daily habit, I've been given crap by other members for vaping.

I belong to the "Nicotine is good for you" school of thought. It just isn't good enough to accept the hazards of burning tobacco. You'll get no flack from me.

It stands to reason that people can pick up vaping just as other's have picked up smoking.

The majority of the community has gravitated to vaping as a means to quit smoking. And knowing the struggle of nicotine addiction, most hate to see someone head down this path, in any form.

All of us were non vapors and non smokers at one point, so really, who are we to judge?

But, on the flip side of that coin, we all know first hand of that Pandora's Box that was just opened and want to discourage anyone from making that same mistake.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with vaping. I'm in the boat of life is too short to be boring and live under everyone's idea of how I should live....

I think vaping might be good for people who have over eating disorders. I think it's strange to bother with it if you don't "need to" but whatever floats your boat.

The way I see it, I started the same way that scullay did, because the people around me did it so I picked it up, except the difference is I smoked while scullay vapes. So far be it for me to admonish her for it.

I feel this way.... If there was no e cigs then you might have tried smoking instead. I think you did what you want and there is nothing wrong with that. I'm confused by the stance some take against never-smoker vapers because why did we pick up our first cigarette? Because we wanted to, or maybe a friend or sibling said it was cool. We had the choice to smoke or not smoke, you should have the choice to vape or not.

I come from smoking cigs, pipes and cigars. The cigs were a habit & the pipes and cigars, more of a hobby, yet all contain nicotine. There's a long-standing mindset on the cigar & pipe forums of "Like what you smoke & smoke what you like". I'll just carry that over here & tell you that the way I see it is: Like what you vape & vape what you like.

Now, having said that, I'll also tell you that I know ...... addicts for whom it was easier to kick that habit, than it was to kick smoking tobacco.

I am with you on this one buddy. As a non cig smoker, I do enjoy a vape. It is calm, relaxing and the flavors are wonderful. My reason for starting to vape is probably different from yours, but regardless of ANYONE's reason, there should not be any judgement on who vapes... PERIOD!

I've never smoked cigs but I liked to smoke hookah (tobacco and the molasses) which is originally how I came to vaping. I use low nic or 0 nic as shisha used in hookah is either nic free or the tobacco contains a very low nic content. So many more juice flavours then there are shisha flavours and I'm not inhaling anywhere near as many nasties.
I've also found the additional benefit of the slight stimulant effect of nic as I'm a shift worker and now often vape on nights or very early starts.

If you want to vape, vape. I'm glad you're here and I'm not the least bit concerned with how you got here. How destroying myself with cigarettes for 35 years makes me eligible for some kind of high horse, I'll never know. Nor do I want to know. You're alright with me, my friend. Make yourself at home ! Read up on battery safety, learn ohms law and buy an ohms checker, though.
