take a primer puff even when using a manual battery?

I know it's a must on an auto but I don't see it mentioned when talking about manuals but I find I don't have to take as long of a 2nd "hit" to be satisfied in terms of TH and vapor when I do . . .

B) Thought it might be helpful to mention for others who are kind of new like I am

Well, I do take a primer puff, just out of habit, I started on autos.
Although it is NOT needed at all

I never took primer puffs on anything! I always just forgot. Thank goodness is isn't needed on manuals. (which is all I use anymore)

I started on autos and quickly switched over to manual batts and I still take a primer puff--I like the little puff of vapor I get and then I take a longer inhale. It's just a habit, not really "necessary" but makes my vaping experience just that much more fun.

The PP who said they start the battery before taking a hit is basically doing the same thing--heating up the atty a sec before taking your actual hit. I think that "pre-heating" is helpful and that's what a primer puff on an auto is doing anyway.

Sometimes i do, yes.. depends on the cart... im using only premiums now,
and the vapor production is much better... but i still do find myself with a couple primer puffs then a long inhale to get big clouds. a lot of it for me is not only feeling it, but seeing a huge atom bomb cloud come out.
my vaping pals marvel at it!

For me it's more about enjoying the flavor - Similar to puffing on a fine cigar type of thing. As my taste buds come back, this becomes more and more enjoyable. Of course the big clouds of vapor don't hurt either

I have developed the same pattern. I seem to always take that primer puff. I have tried desperately to stop doing it, but always revert in the end. I use a manual mod about 80% of the time and manual passthru's the rest. Priming just isn't needed, but I can't seem to break the habit. I am glad to know I am not the only one.

Every auto I have from V4L doesn't require a primer puff. I've tried an auto from a different company in the past, and the primer was needed to activate it, but since using V4L autos, I have found it's not needed.

So basically, no... I don't do a primer puff, even on autos.

While it certainly isn't necessary I really do find taking a primer puff or hitting the button for a second or so like decaf before my drag/hit/puff really does help with vapor and TH.

I find that a primer puff even on the manuals (while holding down the button) gives a much better plume and throat hit... when I don't do it the vapor feels more "airy" - especially when I pick it up after letting it sit for a while. A second pull immediately after doesn't seem to need the primer puff, tho - probably because it's already warm, as others have said.

I do it all the time on when taking my first puff with manual works a lot better, because the cartomizer gets hot faster for me
