Got mine today. Love it...

It's a bit heavy and the cable is stiff and bulky... but I'll take that over the flimsy ones that break within a week.

The button is taking a bit to get used to, because I'm used to the larger button on the Prodigy. It also feels different when pressed than the Prodigy button does. The Prodigy button has some 'snap' to it.

So far, I've tried it plugged into an outlet adapter, and on my Kensington. Works fine on both. I'm preferring it on the Kensington just because I can place it where I want, and it's a little less awkward. I'm considering ordering one of the extension cables that PS sells.

My only concern is about the switch. Do I understand correctly that if there is an issue, the entire device needs to be sent back? That the switch isn't modular like on the Prodigy and Protege?

So far, it's exactly what I expected, and there's nothing comparable out there. I'm sure the initial awkwardness will pass as I get used to having it in hand. Two thumbs up with a snap and a twist. In a Z formation.

I will let you know tonight!!!! Should be in the mail now, nice!!!

haha ... Sounds good Gibby! :)

That is correct Walrus ... But unlike the previous version, this one is not pinned, so its quite easy for us to replace. Its not modular for the simple fact, the mechanical switches we are building are tank-ish compared to the electric switches we use. If our mechanical switch fails or gets stuck on -- boom to the motherboard  .. Thus the reason we are continuing to keep the electrical switches for USB PT's .... To be honest -- Our PT's are the least returned Product for repair/replacement, and normally (in the past) it wasn't the switch failing ... It was the hott wire getting pulled, which should hopefully not happen at all on this version :)

I can live with that, Steve :)

I'll certainly be putting the PT through it's paces. It'll be replacing my Prodigy both at home and at work, simply because I'm tired of changing batteries all the time. Ole' Prodigy will still be the starter when I'm out and about. I find that the performance of the two is pretty similar. The edge might go to the PT, since the Prodigy suffers as the batteries get weaker.

My hands are a bit large for the PT/Protege, and I end up with my ring finger on the grommet and my pinky on the cable... not quite as comfortable as the Prodigy, but I guess I'll consider it extra strain relief :)

I don't/won't use it plugged into my PC anyway. I'm not risking it. Not just for the PS PT, but for anything using the USB port as a power supply.

Just got my pt hooked up and gave it a whirl.

All I can say is...holy smokes!

I think I've died and gone to vapor heaven. This is my very first high voltage device of any sort. I've been using the 510 with stock batts for the past 3-4 months and I thought I'd been getting great vapor production, but it just doesn't compare.

What an improvement in flavor! I'm currently going through and testing all my liquids again now that I can actually taste em properly (and picking up a wild nicotine buzz while I'm at it :D).

This is a slick little device, very solid construction and quite a bit smaller than I was expecting.

I'm going to give this PT a 9/10 rating. The only reason I'm not giving it a perfect 10 is due to the thickness of the cord, but I can deal with it :p

Steve, Casey and the rest of the PS team, thank you very much for drastically improving my vaping experience! I think I'm going to look into getting a Protege next :)

PS- Yes this is my first post, and NO I'm not a spammer. I've been lurking on these forums for the past few months but have just recently made an acct to post with >.>

Got mine in today too. It really is just as I expected it would be. I'ill spend a lot of time with this guy. I really love the consistant voltage. My batteries will probably finally get a break. It's a Protege with no battery required!

Great job Steve & Casey.

Kevin

It's really not a Protege though it's got a little more kick than the Protege.

It's easily got the kick of the Prodigy at 5v.

So... day 2. Still loving it. Actually, it's the only device I have that gets me to put it down every once in a while. Even the Prodigy at 5v doesn't accomplish that.

And... although I love my 510's, and have used them exclusively for months... I just ordered the 801 adapter for the PT. At times I'm finding the 510 on the PT to be a little overwhelming. NEVER thought I'd ever say that.

Well, I've done a bad thing. I was on the road today and started not getting the usual hit I had already gotten used to. Topped off, no help, checked the power source and all looked good. I thought, this shouldn't be happening I wonder what is going wrong. So I finished that leg of the trip with my Protege.

When I stopped and took the time to diagnose what was wrong. I decided to switch atty's with the Protege. That's what it was, I had put on one of my older SS attys on the new PS PT because it just looked better. Turns out the atty was going out on me. I put a new atty on the PT and all was well. I hadn't put the new atty on the PT, that was my mistake. So all is well with my now totally new PT.

By the way Walrus, hello from Lake Charles.

I've had mine for a couple of days now, and I agree with Walrus on all points, except for his comments about the 510 atty. I normally use 801's as my main vape, and 510's as my "alternate" vape for variety, but the voltage on this baby seems perfect for the 510, even better than on my Prodigy. The consistent vapor is great, and the stainless steel looks cooler in person than it does in pictures. Great job Cash!

Don't get me wrong... I love the 510 on it. It certainly produces! As I said, sometimes it's just overwhelming. I constantly vape... not necessarily because I need the nicotine, but because I like the flavor and it keeps me from snacking. LOL... I guess sometimes now I need something that performs a little... less. I can't vape the 510 on the PT constantly any more than I could smoke constantly. That's not a bad thing! I guess you could say the 510 on the PT recreates analog smoking more than anything I've ever tried. And after 9 months of vaping, I don't want to do it less :)

Could someone please post a review of the USBpass v2 relative to the original USBpass? I have been very pleased with my USBpass v1 units, and am curious whether the new version is superior (and if so, how).

The new pass-through looks exactly like a protege with a permanantly affixed, conical plastic end-piece from which extends approximately four feet of heavy-duty USB cable with a male, gold-colored USB connector on the end.

It uses the same sizes/types of adapters as the Protege and even has the same logo in the same place. Basically, it's a protege with a cable stickin' out of it. The resemblance ends there, however. The vapor is indescribably different from a Protege's even when the protege is used with fully charged batteries; it's warm and plentiful without giving the user the violence you see in six-volt devices.

Hope you found that useful.
