Anyone know where you can get a car adapter that will work with the PT? I took it to work today and plugged it in to my wife's I phone adapter, and nothing happened. I even tried plugging it into someone else's car just to be sure something wasn't wrong with the cigarette lighter plug in, and it still didn't work. I've used this same adapter with my regular 510 PT, and it worked fine. I think the PS PT is probably pulling too much juice for it. Any suggestions?

Yep, just make sure it's rated 5v, 1A or better. I use/like this one:

It's the Belkin F8Z445. Funny though... the Kensington one that looks just like it is only rated for 700mA. This one is rated at 1A, and I know it works, I've used it several times.

I might go for a little higher amperage. I have a 1a ac adapter that struggles and trips sometimes. I also have tripped a Kensington power pack. I use a Kensington power pack but run the charger on it while vaping. 1 amp may be a little low sometimes. I have seen the higher wattage DCD adapters but can't find the link right now. But, if it's cheap and easy to get then go for it and see if it works.

I just got my PS USB pass-thru V2 in the mail yesterday. I am very impressed so far with the design and quality. I also own a Silver Bullet and an Exhaler from Nhaler.com, but I'm still fairly new to high voltage vaping. The SB and XH will still have their places in my rotation, but whenever I'm at my PC desk the PS PT will be my main fog machine. The USB cord is very thick and well insulated for maximum durability. It was a little tight going around to the back of my PC tower and I didn't really like the look of it hanging out of a front USB port. My solution was to reposition my high power USB hub to the back of my desk and plug the PT in there. I love the brushed stainless finish on this thing. No visible fingerprint smudges to clean up like on my Silver Bullet. Now I just need to get something to holster this thing upright that I can attach to the side of my desk's bookshelf. Has Anyone found a good way to do this?

EDIT...I forgot to mention that the atty that came with my USB Pass kit is an absolute BEAST, :)

As usual, late to the party. I ordered a 510 PT last August and it never worked very well, not through my computer (later learned that was risky anyway) and not through a wall/USB adapter I picked up at Best Buy in desperation. The PT gathered dust and I considered selling it.

Somebody in another thread mentioned this:
USB Dual Power Adapter
for a measly $1.95, and I finally got it today. Now I KNOW why people love their PTs. This is monstrous! Un-freakin'-believable!

I just ordered a couple of car adapters (thanks for the info above) and I'll probably wind up getting a PT for the car and a PT for the office just to not have to cart them around. Now there's a new PT? Yikes. I'll get used to the darned cord, and of course I'll buy any shiny new thing Puresmoker dangles in front of me. But I didn't think anything could top a Prodigy with fresh batteries and a new atty. I was wrong. Good thing I'm down to about zero-nic 'cuz God only knows how much liquid I've gone through tonight.

Sorry to just be raving. I know one other vapor in meatspace, she's still using a 510 with a cute little LED, and nobody else but you folks would understand what an insane pleasure this is. I'm alternating Pralines 'n Cream with a coffee/toffee LorAnn's mix that's my usual all-day vape... who needs food? Who the hell ever needed... cigarettes??? Did I really used to smoke a pack a day?

Got my 510 passthrough today along with the same rocking USB wall plug (USB Dual Power Adapter thanks Markarich159!). Tried it with several different attys, keeping it wet, short drags, and still get that awful burnt taste. Tried a fresh atty and another flavor and same results.

Any advice? I know a lot of people love the 510 at 5 or even 6v so there must be something I'm doing wrong.

Trying it now with a 901...

What juice are you using? I am having to use the same juice for the PT that I use with my Prodigy. I'm also using one of the cart mods, the RSP mod to get enough liquid to wick because of the higher demand. The PT hits a lot harder than the Protege by at least 1/2 a volt.

Maybe try an older atty at first. Keep experimenting, I promise you it's worth it.

So I am not sure of this, but does the new 510 USB PT run at 5 volts? If so, I really would like to get one. Or, should I wait for the Prodigy V2, hoping that it will have a USB option? I really like the idea of a Prodigy V2 'system'.

It runs at whatever the power source you're plugged into puts out... so yes, typically 5v.

How short of a drag are we talking here, Lotus? I'm starting to notice that sometimes people will consider 5-6 seconds "short" and that can definitely be the cause of some issues.

How much liquid are you using? Carts? Dripping? How much time are you letting it rest between drags?

2 second button presses. Dripping with a cart I trimmed some of the atty end off of to avoid melting. Dripping 2-3 drops often enough that I occasionally flood but never let it get close to dry. 4 different attys.

I've tried it with PS 36mg and 11mg 555 and with some HV liquid.

Any ETA on the mechanical switches? I'm starting to think Steve was right about the 510s sweet spot being 3.7v!

Actually I love it at 4.2v on the Protege with a fresh batt. Wish I could add some resistance to bring the PT down a notch.

Hoping next week Lotus ...

FYI -- You're only getting 4.3v under load on the PS USBpass ;) Not 5v ... Burning could be due to the added amperage! will take some getting used to at higher voltages :)

Yes, I realize the loaded voltage is always less. On the Protege, 4.2v at the adapter gives me about 3.8v loaded. I just wish it would stay there!

I'll keep working with it this weekend. I hope to get used to the PT, but the burnt taste has got to go.

Next week on the switches would be good. Especially EARLY next week ;)
