Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my bt804. 28 gauge coil, 4 wraps, 3mm wick, running at .08 ohms. After a couple hits from refilling, I get burnt and dry hits. I always have to plug the air hole and suck on the drip tip to get it working right again for another 4 hits before returning to dry hits.

U r having wicking issues obviously...
1. U don't need to plug the air-hole while taking primer puffs,
2. Have u filled it till the top? Leaving it 4/5th full is wise.
3. R ur wick ends 'sitting' on the bridge (correct way), or have u lined them into the juice channels?

i use a "U" wick with 2mm ekowool with the wicks just barely hanging above the juice chanels. the "qorax" method :) works fantastic, never a dry or burnt hit!

The qorax method. I had forgot to post back on that. I wick with three very small cheese cloth wicks and since I read his method a little while back I've been wrapping two around the side and looping the ends of one above the coil. I think it is at least slightly better, as I almost never have to give a primer puff anymore unless I over fill.

Speaking of primer puffs, I used to cover the air hole and give a little pull. This usually resulted in flooding and a gurgle or two that cleared out pretty quickly. Anymore, and as qorax suggested, I just take a few dry puffs and I'm back in business with no flooding.

Thanks qorax!!! :vapor:

If you're asking about how qorax does his wicks, maybe he can post some pictures. But if you're asking about a general idea this might help.

Here's a couple of pics and a video from over in the kfl thread. They're kayfuns but show the basic idea. The video is pretty good too imo.

I thought qorax was a "she"

LOL.. take a look at the avatar, that's what tipped me off. I hope you all know that I am a "she"... I mean, if the name Donna doesn't give it away, the pink provari in my avatar hopefully does :D

It's filled up to the base of the cone, right before it curves in wards. My wick is wrapped around the base, above the channel, not in the channel like how it was when it came to me.

I don't let much wick set above the channels, if any. It's not necessary. You just need them to reach the base and it should be a fat wick to be sure you soak up all the juice that feeds when you take a pull. Laying on it's side leaving one channel in the juice and one channel in the air can present problems so it should be avoided.
This compares to my kayfun lite in performance though not in build or juice capacity. I have a vivi nova metal tank on mine now and happily vaping pluid. For flavor and throat hit, I think it outperforms the kfl....

I feel double stupid because I finally see the avatar. I mean, I did have my glasses on the other times I looked at it lol. :vapor:

i have gotten tired of the hassle, and wasted juice with this atomizer. I found a solution ;) i converted it to a Spheroid! (Dreamoid) it holds as much juice as before and performs as good if not maybe a little better!

all credit goes to Lordy for this great idea!

Perfect timing!! I just heard about this and am currently working on a trade where a Dream tank may be part of it. Marking my spot here, now I'll go back and read the thread. :)

i'm really liking it. i just couldn't master filling it without wasting half my juice so when i saw this mod i thought thats my ticket! if i wouldn't hae found this mod it would have ended up in my parts box SOON. im now modding mine again so i can use the SS extention, more juice the better haha.

Very ingenious... poor man's Spheroid out of Dream BT804 & Vivi Nova!
Thanks for the share Nelson :)

BTW, I love my Dream BT Extended in it's stock form too... never, ever, had a dry-hit or flooding (it's all in the build & filling technique!), performs stupendously, just like my KFLs, but in a budget!
