I don't know about that.

Yes, it stinks, is gross, and bothers people with asthma ( On a side note, what Dosnt? )

But no, Second hand smoke never hurt anyone. You can get lung cancer living in a Hypoallergenic Bubble.
Does it piss everyone off, Yes, and rightfully so.

ive definitely found that ex-smokers who had to quit using the white knuckle method are the first ones to shoot down vaping and even after being educated on the topic. i personally believe that its because they hate the fact that there is possibly an easier way to quit now and a lot of them are just completely closed minded to the situation. because i didn't have to go through the the horrible withdrawals, then i haven't really quit yet! i know people are gonna be confrontational if they see me vaping whether is really bothering them or not and we're all entitled to our opinions... i know that the sight of people smoking anything, to alot of those who dont smoke, just bothers them. so i try to only vape where smoking allowed or otherwise i try to be discreet about it because i know that they'll only become confrontational if they actually see me doing it.... i just try to be respectful to others wether i agree with them or not..

I agree with most of this. I think a lot of white knucklers also replace their addiction with food, etc, and it really just comes down to quitting the smoking or quitting the smoking and nicotine. I do agree that many seem resentful towards those who have found vaporizing to be the most effective method to either quit smoking or to be a bridge to quitting nicotine altogether.

I disagree that being discreet is the way to handle it, because it implies that we are doing something wrong by vaporizing. The vapor is not affecting anyone else beyond triggering their own bias. That's really their problem, and not of the person who's vaping. I think we should be open about it in public and willing to explain to people what it actually is, in detail, so they understand it. Anything beyond that, like arguing about breaking addictions, etc is going to create more problems, and if the conversation turns to that, I just stop talking about it.

I agree and I don't here. I do agree we shouldn't have to be discreet. However, I have recently run into issues at the bar.
We do have to be careful about WHICH flavors we are vaping. Apparently, my favorite juice in the entire world(for now) Mint Chocolate Chip, while It tastes wonderful to me the aroma is actually a bit offensive to some people. I'm sure this can be remedied by a juice that smells better on exhale. Maybe something like pineapple? Some people do seem to have this knee jerk reaction when seeing something that looks like smoking to instantly be offended regardless of whatever is said. There is nothing you can say to some people. Stealth vaping is probably the way to go if your mid-beer or whatever and such a situation arises. At the time I was a little drunk and offended, but now at least I know how to handle the situation in the future. Just a heads up to others!

in reality, my reasons for being discreet is for my own benefit... it really doesn't matter how right or wrong people are, some people are just not going to be reasonable when it "looks like" your smoking. So being discreet is just far easier on me then explaining myself, because ive been known in the past to loose my temper pretty quickly especially when speaking with ignorant people... but i agree that i shouldn't have to hide it. but hide is not a good word to describe what i mean by being discreet. its more like what i do when im on my phone, if im with a large group of people i might step away from the group for a minute, if im in a restaurant or bar i just exhale in a manner where people aren't going to see huge clouds of vapor. But your right, i should'nt have to be discreet. i just find it to be far easier then dealing with uneducated, ignorant, self-rightious people!

I vape freely when I'm out and about with no problems. I often get a few strange looks but nothing more than that. Whenever I'm at a restaurant, I ask the waiter/waitress or the manager if it's okay to vape there. Some say it's fine since they've never gotten any complaints about it, others say no because it might raise questions with the other customers that they feel they won't be able to answer properly. I've even had a few people come up to me and ask me questions about my gear and what the benefits of it are over smoking.

Last night I walked out from shop and started vaping. 2 drunk dudes approached me and asked for a lighter. I told them that I don't smoke creating massive vapor cloud at the same time. I can't forget expressions on their faces :) . I just didn't think about the fact that in the dark they cant really see what I smoke ecig or analog. One of them looked really upset with my answer and started making some nasty comments until I explained that it's an ecig. :)
