I'm still kind of new to this myself, but I want to give this a shot: Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer

Looks like a great little tank for a box mod or even an eGo battery (or any other high capacity 510 battery).

I have bought three of these tanks. I would suggest buying the cartos on their site to use with these as the plastic end caps are difficult to use with user punched carts. Two weeks of use on one tank with no leaks and the carto inside has lasted me a week and a half (I vape between 5-7mls a day) so that is alot of life out of a carto for me. Go with the LR version and they rock! And if you have a problem with the carto staying wet give it a few sharp dry pulls to suck juice in.

Just have to put my 10 pence in here.
After reading the posts on here and seeing where the posters reside (and there is no offence here) but in the UK I have found more positive reaction from using my 808's (which do look like an analogue) than my eGo-T.
I started vaping 4 weeks ago and proudly vaped in public and in work (my boss loves the fact I don't have to keep going outside and that the office smells nicer), the kit I purchased contained the KR808D-1 but instead of white batteries I went with black, still with a red led. I found I was being stopped and asked about it with genuine curiosity and those I have seen since have either made the switch or are looking into it further "I thought they were a passing phase/gadget but it really works" is something that I have heard a lot of too.
Well my DH bought me an eGo-T, while not looking outrageous it doesn't so much resemble an analogue, it arrived yesterday so despite me not really getting along with the eGo-T set up I was curious as to the reactions I would get on my way home yesterday, sad to say I was stopped and questioned in depth by a police officer who thought I was openly smoking drugs. He was fine once I had explained and admitted he had seen me 'smoking a black cigarette' previously and wanted to know which brand I smoked, I explained further that my 808 was serving the same function, just looked different.
While I understand what the original poster and others have said, just from my experiance, people think you are up to no good using a mod style PV.
Only you know how your community will react and despite the bans in the UK, smoking analogue style PVs I have found to be more accepted.
I do think referring to a PV as 'an electronic cigarette' does promote a negative image though and when asked about mine I refer to them as Personal Nicotine Vapouriser but better that those you get at the chemist

Hi there Trilly :) We are almost at the 1 month mark, glad to see you here again ;).

I have only vaped in public once, but I don't get out much. It was at a flea market, and they have indoor and outdoor sections. I pulled mine out when I went outside, but I don't think anyone even noticed. Not once did I notice anyone looking at me twice, or any comments at all.

I am looking for a longer lasting solution, something with a longer life span and higher volume of Juice than my Vapor King rig.

I'm curious about Tanks, mods, etc. But I couldn't seem to find a newb FAQ on it, and the posts I have run into all speak in E-cig shorthand TLA's. It's hard to decipher when starting out.

Got any links to articles / posts that I should read?

O

Heyas Oicu,

You might try haunting Mods Discussion . Not a faq, but there's lots of good information to be had there if you just wade in, start reading, and posting questions.

I have a 3.7v mod which I was pretty underwhelmed with, as compared to the ego. The difference was negligible, imho. I do dearly love my vv mods though :)

I've amassed a fairly large collection of different cartos, looking for the "perfect" one for my ego. Now I just grab whichever, throw it on a vv mod, adjust the dial, and vape away :)

There's still difference from carto to carto on vv, but anything can be made to work at least well, and often fantastic :)

:D

Glad to see we are both still with the programme, I'm loving it (at least with my 808s). What PV did you go with?

Normally, people around me are curious about this "metal cigarette" that glows green on the end when I draw.

But tonight, I was having a drink in the hotel bar, and some random guy got very belligerent with me for "smoking". I explained that it was vapor, not smoke, and that it is odorless and harmless. That didn't score any points with him, and he continued to glare at me, etc.

It made me think that he is an ex-smoker (the most vehement anti-smoking people around!).

Anyone else had any experiences like this?

[Scarlet] I've got the vapors! [/Scarlet]

I vape in my local pub and have had no negative responses yet (been doing it in there for about 6 weeks). I am considerate with where I blow the vapour but don't hide it. All I have had is people insterested in what it is and how it works, some have said "why don't you just stop" and I just answer that I like smoking and have found a way to continue without killing myslef so why should I.

I also vape at work (large open plan office) when my colleague (who sits opposite me) is not at her desk, she moans about the smell which is fair enough i suppose as I moan when she eats egg sandwiches! :)

I love going out with the smokers anyway so this is no hardship, I have converted about 25% of them to vaping now so we chat about ecigs! Perfect.

Back when I first started vaping was when I was in Japan. The 2 notable experiences I had with people were quite comical. I got on the subway and started puffing away like a madman just because I could (I was new to it, felt great to be blatant lol). the 4 or 5 people within 15 feet of me began to stare at me, a few even gave me the notorious X gesture (cross the arms to say "stop that" ) I proceeded to explain in nihongo that it was electronic and ok... instead of being reassured they seemed even more creeped out that I spoke their language, all the people moved and I was left alone to vape in my own section of the train.

The other time was when I was outside in the busy area of Yokohama station... a woman approached me, it was an ashtray woman, these people quite literally patrol station areas with ashtrays and make people put out cigarettes when they are in the vicinity of the station. The woman asked me to put out my cigarette, I went through my normal speech in Japanese about how its harmless. After my 2 min speech she simply did not believe me, she kept pushing the ashtray toward me insisting that I put it out! I had to walk away from her in a quick hustle while she threatened to run to the koban (police box near most station) even after I put my old M401 away.

Most people get the idea of e-smoking, but when they don't they don't.

Isn't that the truth? You might as well be a sheep pimp instead of a smoker. Less negative stigma attached there. :p

O
hey now, make love to one sheep and all of the sudden I'm a bad guy?

What's next? Will drinking be bad too?

I've been called out before in a restaurant in my first week or so of using it? (I tried a quick explanation but the waitress was still saying sorry, I cdouldn't do it) But I only use it in places where I would use analogs anyway. I find it understandable though - I mean to us (people on this forum) We've researched every aspect of it, used it for ages, know all the pros and cons and mechanics, so obviously we'll see it differently. But for other people, they wouldn't necessarily know the difference, they still see clouds of 'vape/smoke' and if you're in a public non-smoking place and other customers see it and complain, then you're putting staff in a delicate situation. (And if they've never heard of e-cigs before, even if your explanation sounds perfectly reasonable - from their perspective you still could be making stuff up)
Basically it's the same as if someone loaded up 'herbal - drugless stuff' into a .... and started smoking in an elementary school, or filled an empty smirnoff bottle with vodka and started drinking it or even 'shooting up' sugar solution or sth. It may be harmless, or even 'look and smell different' to an trained eye. But an untrained eye can't tell the difference, and people from afar still get a negative impression/can't tell the difference.

But haha basically - if you've stepped out all your life, what's the difference, if you can make restaurant staff etc. have an easier time and avoid stressing other people out. Cuz face it, if you havent' spent hours upon hours researching this stuff, you probably couldn't tell the difference either.

Even though vaping is gaining popularity, and more and more people are becoming aware of it, there are still many who are totally clueless about it. I'm not about to fight with anybody about my right to vape in places where smoking isn't allowed. Those people who are clueless can be just as easily influenced by a negative confrontation as a positive one. We, as a vaping community don't need to cultivate any more enemies. If I'm asked to stop, I'll offer a brief explanation as to what I'm doing, and then stop.
A few months ago, I had business at our county court house. All people entering have to go through a metal detector, with their belongings on a x ray belt, much like an airport. I had a cigarette "look alike" 808 battery, with a carto attached to it, which I placed on the x ray belt. I was told that I couldn't enter the court house with it. Meanwhile, I knew that you could enter with a pack of analogs and a lighter. It made no sense to me. But I obliged, and returned the e cig to my truck.
The reason that was given to me was that there were people in the past who had been caught stealth vaping inside the court house; so they were no longer permitted.
