I stopped the cig. 'bout 4 weeks now on 24mg ... started 18mg this week, plus whatever's left of the 24mg I have left laying around, I've already started ordering 12mg... I which I met people or somebody educated me in this vaping thing along time ago.. I've would've stop smoking long ago.. if only I would've known... I love this stuff, the toys, the technical stuff, the flavors, tanks, attys, cartos, ohms, volts, amps, slotting, punches etc.. Vape anywhere, 2 puffs, 3 puffs 4 set it down, pick it up... breathing better... nicotine? gonna be finished with that crap soon... vaping? don't wanna.. it's 1 fun hobby...

Talked to the doctor 'bout it.. anything is better then cigs, but the vape ain't exactly healthy, when ever you put .... in your lungs, they will create flambé to protect it... But the Doc say's, no more the living & breathing the air in this big city.. so for me it's like living in NYC twice... don't care.. I like Vaping & all that goes with it... also, I don't eat as much... have a peach.. a peach vape, that is.

Took up vaping to cut back / cut out smoking. Hard to say where I am right now with smoking. Haven't had one in a few days, but not looking to quit that necessarily. I think moderation is a good thing. Vaping helps with 95% of my cravings for nicotine and flavors are wonderful. Being able to do it everywhere (especially around non-smokers) is wonderful.

No plans right now to quit, but if I did, I'd likely go cold turkey. Last time I went cold turkey, I had the migraine thing going on (like for half the month) and since being back on nicotine, I get migraines about once a month or less.

I do not plan on quitting. I take breaks. And I have no problem doing so. I could just stop, I don't have to vape like I HAD to smoke. That is what I like about vaping. But as for now I have no need or desire or plan on quitting all together. I enjoy trying different flavors and blowing vape rings. Vapeing is fun. And it is a cool "hobby" that I have. I do not feel it is a habit that I have to quit. I don't feel like there is anything wrong with vaping. :)

We are at 11 and 12 mg of Nic but that's exactly where we started. I kind of feel like I failed because I haven't dropped down in Nic level any since I started vaping and I quit smoking almost 3 months ago, I REALLY thought I would have been able to drop down by now... but in all honestly I haven't tried. The thing I guess I keep going back to is this... since I am still inhaling Nic did I REALLY quit smoking or am I lying to myself and others? I feel kinda guilty because it seems like I am being less than honest and I am about as honest as they come. UGH!!

How many years did ya smoke cigarettes ? You've only gone without a cigarette for three months. That's not very long. And from your post here on the forum you've spend a lot of that time searching for what works best for ya. Trying to reduce your nic level while still trying to find what works consistantly to keep you away from cigs is IMO a formula for disaster. ;)

Yes, nicotine is part of a cigarette and in that sense you have traded one habit for another. BUT cigarettes also have MANY more proven harmful chemical in them AND tar is created by the burning of the cigarettes and that is nasty stuff. Smoke is created when you burn something and combustion takes place;) You're not burning anything when you vape so NO you are no longer a smoker. :) None of those other harmful chemicals are in ecigs NOR do we create any tar when we vape. There is compelling evidence that nicotine without combustion is not the harmful substance we have been led to believe. Don't let the anti smoking zealots convince you vaping is as bad as smoking and if you vape you've not given up anything. :(

If you wish to be nicotine free some day thats fine :) But if you rush that process faster then your body and mind is willing to accept you are likely to fail. If you take your time and let your body tell you when its ready you've got a much greater chance of success. :)

You have said that you've not been ready yet to attempt lowering your nic level. Don't beat yourself up over that. When you are ready give it a try. Don't expect it to happen over night. Remember, a watched pot never boils :)

I smoked approx 2 packs a day for 35 years, have ZERO desire to go back to smoking. I know I have to be careful that I don't go to fast and end up back at square 1 HOWEVER I don't want to spend the rest of my life being addicted to nic. I am not concerned about the vaping part of it, it's the nic itself that I want completely off of, maybe then I won't feel guilty any more.

Sennie, I think you're being too hard on yourself. You just quit a 35 year nasty smelling/tasting habit that will kill you if you go back. I would think that's good enough for now. Yeah, some of us have a 0 nicotine goal, but it isn't that simple. There are habits to break, addictions to overcome. I say DON'T RUSH! Why risk putting so much stress on yourself to cut back the nicotine that you risk going back to the one thing that got you here?

Know what kills me? The fact that my wife and I both started vaping after smoking for over 30 years and she is able to use only 18 mg juice and I can't seem to break that 24 mg mark without wanting to hurt someone.

We're all different and you will find your comfort place.

I went to vaping to quit smoking also with the plan to eventually quit vaping as well. After a month into the change and analog free for the all but the first two days I don't see quitting in future at this point. I do plan and working on cutting my nic down to 0mg but honestly I enjoy vaping way to much. My wife quit smoking almost a year ago with the Blu and shortly after we found out we're expecting our 2nd kid so that worked out for the best. Although she doesn't miss smoking AT ALL she does miss her Hooka sessions so she is now hinting around that she would like me to get her a setup for after the baby comes

When I 1st started vaping I said it was a means to an end and that I wanted to be completely off Nic within 6 months. I am beginning to wonder if that was just a pipe dream and I just changed 1 addiction for another.... What say you?
I'm pretty sure vaping narrows the gap of difficulty in quitting altogether, a higher launchpad, shorter leap so to speak, and I doubt one can go wrong taking the e-tack.

I suspect other addictive chemicals exist in smoking tobacco which will have been shaken off after some e-cig'ing mileage is well behind me.

Time will tell ... and will leave decisions to quit for good to the future.

We are at 11 and 12 mg of Nic but that's exactly where we started. I really don't think pushing on some arbitrary subjective target is a good policy. If you are getting anxious, then chuck the target. You have already succeeded quitting smoking ... consider that the most valuable achievement of all. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I willingly chose the addiction associated with e-cigs as I do feel its a million times safer than smoking. I like nicotine and have finally found a method that could severely reduce the risks associated with the other methods. I was absolutely content to say at 24mg for whatever window of time. No real intention of cutting back.

But now I'm starting to notice that 24mg is too heavy and will be migrating to 18mg on most of my DIY blends (keep some 24mg around for when intoxicated).

So even without intending to, I am stepping down gradually. Only took 10 months to go down 6 mg.

:p
