I quit smoking cigarettes after 40 years to vape and have no intention of stopping. I vape mostly 18mg and sometimes 24mg.
The way I see it, I don't drink, don't smoke anymore and I've long ago stopped running the streets - vaping is one of the few simple pleasures I have left and I intend to keep it.
As for those who figure if you quit this or that you will be healthier and that may be true until something else (usually totally unexpected) takes your life.
The car on the expressway out of control careening towards you at 70mph.
The slip and fall in the shower.
The light plane that loses power and crashes into your house.
The diagnosis of a catastrophic illness.
The hamburger that you ate that wasn't cooked quite as well as it should have been.
You get the idea.

One can quit every bad thing they do; ultimately it does not matter because really, the only time that one is truly guaranteed are the seconds that one is living right now and the seconds/minutes/hours/days/weeks/months/years that one has already lived.
I can make a reasonable assumption that I will be here in the next 10 minutes, next week, next year but there are no absolute guarantees.
But I digress.
No - I will never stop vaping because I do love it - much more than smoking.
Probably won't cut down on the nic either.
There are so many other things in this world that could cause/contribute to my death and I think nic addiction is WAY, WAY, WAAAY down on that list, lol

Hey there Sennie,

I started vaping to get off cigs and eventually off nicotine. So far, after 3 months, I am off cigs for good, and have moved from 12mg of nicotine down to 6mg. I am not sure if I will give up vaping in general, I find that the different juices are very tasty and help me not to snack as much. But, I do see myself eventually getting down to 0mg of nicotine. I think from reading everyone's responses, that we all are different, and will move down at our own rate. I know how it is with the pressure to move down quickly, but don't let that rush you. YOU will know when it is time to step down for you.:)
Keep up the great work, and know we are all rooting for you. I am sure everyone wants you, and everyone, to reach their goals.

Keep Vaping :vapor:

Most of yall have made great strides in cutting nic down to 6mg in a few months after smoking. I've been at this 3 years and just stepped down from 18 to 12mg literally 3 months ago. Thats how long it took me (15 year smoker). The decision or want to stop is certainly on a case by case basis. I eventually want to stop. I do enjoy it but quitting can make things easier. there are MINOR annoyances when you've been vaping awhile. Making sure to always have batteries charging, stocking up on juice, having a battery die at work or in the car and your SOL. I hope to stop eventually, but seeing how I just got the nerve/desire to step it down a bit, it's most likely gonna be awhile. however long it takes.

I LOVED smoking, but when I noticed that my lungs were starting to hurt even when I yawned, I decided to move to vaping...

Now I LOVE vaping! The goal was to stop killing myself with cigarettes, and I have done that. My only real goal now is to successfully get down to about 12mg from 24mg. We'll see what happens after that.
