This has prolly been asked but I can't find it anywhere.
Has anyone had either of these as a clone and how did it perform?
My buddy gets a discount at a shop that's the opposite way from my house so it's a big hassle for me to get in there. He said they were out of stock of both but each was around 30-40$.
I'm pretty sure they're clones. I guess I'm fine with them so long as it's pretty much the same thing

When I drilled out a larger hole for my Nimbus clone #1, and another hole for the other side...WOW! Knock you off your rocker vaping satisfaction. Best $7 bucks I've ever spent on vape gear.

The Nimbus has a nice well to tuck extra wick into (I use silica), so over-dripping is never a problem. Just a word of warning though for the fasttech clone, the thing is covered in machining oils, so make sure to give it a thorough scrub down before using it the first time or you'll get a mouthful of chemical vapor.

The Trident clone looks to be even better, as I imagine there is no need for drilling at all, but I've been so happy with my modded Nimbus, I'm finished buying RBA drippers until I pull the trigger on a Reo and an RM2. No need to spend $80+ on an RBA, these cheapies deliver the goods in spades, man.

nimbus goes for 60+ and tridents 80+ new. plus or minus ofcourse. used nimbus at around 40-50, used trident at around 60-70 from what has appeared in the classifieds. if you're gonna buy clones, get it from the source. FT has free shipping anyway.

i've been pondering getting a nimbus knockoff to compare to my nimbus. i love it and i'd love to experience it kicking a knockoff's ....

You could literally buy 9 clones for the price of the real thing. I modded mine, I highly doubt the original beats it.

It's a primitive RBA that performs based on what you build on it. Whether or not you spent $6.95 or $64.95 on one, well all righty then.

My new Trident 24K gold plated from Fasttech won't screw on to the Private V2 brass, copper, SS from Fastteck. The PV2 is not the problem.

Disappointing.

And that there is the "other shoe" with some of these clones. Fasttech is really good about returns and refunds. Been through two refunds with them so far with no problems what-so-ever.

That sux.
Mine is a good fit, but it doesn't seem to want to fit my wooliston magneto clone.
Here it is on my v2.

Btw....to the OP.
I like my trident clone better than my nimbus clone.
I have the 3 airhole version, and it is too airy.
I plugged 1 of the holes with a broken off toothpick.
Better, but still too much draw.

I got em both. Short story they both work, really its all about ones own wiring with RDAs no?

There is a Definite weight difference and quality of the metal used between the two and the clones lack the whole "spit back guard" metal lip thing. Also one of the posts on the clone(ok My clone)...like spins. It's not welded in there right. Not a Huge deal I just have to take needle noses and turn it sometimes so I can put the wires in.

So not the same..but do able. If one is just looking to try...clone may be the way to go. Find you love Dipping and rebuildables...might consider an upgrade to the real one.

I haven't really had an issue with my trident clone. Works just fine. All in all I prefer my igo-w's a bit more, especially once I drilled out my airholes. Although a good portion of that preference may just be aesthetics, I bought the trident clone to go on my private v2 clone. My magneto gets the igo-w. I will say never order a igo-w from fasttech, theirs have no holes in the posts, which make it super easy to build on. Most american retailers have them for ~15$ anyways.

i support this. i tried the IGO drippers before i opted for a nimbus. it was on a whim too, classified posting of a fella living 5 minutes from me. i'm all for trying a clone and moving up if you enjoy it. the build quality and overall feeling of self when using is noticeable for me when i use my nimbus vs my IGOs. i still mostly use my IGO-L with a cap it all fauxgotti cap. looks swell. vapes swell. it does come down to one's own build of coil and wick. dependability and fragility i think come into play with clones.
my nimbus will eventually end up on an nzonic i think. will probably be an ehpro nzonic first though. it is good to test the water before you jump in, but thats not to say you can't recoup your spendings on the classified in sale or trade. jumping head first can work sometimes too, since a clone might put a bad taste in your mouth.

i had some kind of bully something clone once, posts were shorted together. instant burns to my button finger. i tried again though, now all i do is drip.

I was just about to pull the trigger and order the same setup, the Private v2 and (silver) Trident from FT when I saw your post...
That really bites, because they look really good together.
Then again, I've seen pics of those 2 items together here on ECF... What gives? Only the clones don't thread together, or what?
If anybody has any insight into this problem, I'd love to hear it.
Guess I'll order the Private v2 with the smoktech Scar instead.

sigh...

I have that combo from fasttech and the trident screws on to the private v2 just fine. The threads on both are great, similar to my provari.

I am having a hard time building my trident clone. I've used .30 gage and .26 gage kenthal wires and i am not getting half the vape then what i am getting from my IGO-W. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried 3 to 4 wraps with dual coils but same result except with .26 gage burns a lot hotter with same amount of vape. Ohm test gives me about .2 to .6 ohm depending on what wire i use. I don't like using my rda on .2 ohm since it gets too hot to vape after few puffs. also kills my battery too fast. my IGO-W runs on .5 ohm and it gives me massive massive vape, i don't know what i am doing wrong with my trident clone. Anyone have any suggestion on this build? like what wires and how many wraps etc.. Oh and i am using Nemesis clone and Chi-you clone. thanks in advance!
