For me though, living in the UK, my stuff from FT arrives a lot quicker than my orders from the USA. Plus I don't have to pay any extra VAT or import duty. When I bought my Vmod it cost me an extra £24 in charges. You guys in the USA are really lucky, you have easier access to a lot more mods and supplies than us poor cousins over the pond ;)

I'm new to these rba's(started building with gennys) and the stormy's 1.5 wires worked extremely well in my first two builds.

I was worried enough about getting the thing set up right and leak free. It was nice to not have to worry about making a nr/r/nr wire and getting it to meter out at the ohms I wanted.

I ordered one from FT as soon as I saw it. Figure even if it's not quite perfect, it will still be something to tinker with for a good while. At this stage, I just would never spend the amount an original costs. In a few more years as the technology stabilizes, maybe, but right now the velocity of obsolescence is just too high lol. Next week it will be three wicks and a post vaporization vapor warmer coil on top. Week after, handheld microwave generator. I'm holding out for the laser based system that zaps the juice into vapor lol.

So i got some no-res and res wire from someone and sat at a vape shop and built a coil. Took me about an hour to get it all done as it was my first ever coil and i got it down to .4 ohms. WAAAY too low, but I still tried to give it a couple vapes, it was my first ever coil. FLOODED. Ridiculously flooded, couldn't even take a draw on the damn thing cause it would jut 4ml of juice into my mouth. And i noticed i could see through the poly tank that there wasnt anymore juice in there. Where did it go? I have no idea. I screwed everything down super tight. Im so confused. So i took it apart again and got it to about 1.4 ohms. Used it without the tank on there, everything was great. As soon as i screwed the tank on and filled it up with juice, it all went south again. I'm gonna watch all these videos again and see if I can get at least one good build before I spend another $25 on an entry level rba tank like the RSST.

I received mine from FT today and just got it cleaned, filled and vaping literally 10 minutes ago. Some very initial impressions:

First off, from an appearance and machined quality perspective, this thing is off the charts fantastic. It is highly polished and the threads are fine and smooth. It looks and feels like a Swiss watch. It is definitely not a hastily done knockoff.

It does need to be cleaned before use. Whatever they used to polish it is on it and in it, especially in the juice control / chamber cap / mouthpiece part. Wipe it and or flush it well. Lube the threads and o-rings with some PG and reassemble.

The wicks & coils build it comes with is very good. It is a parallel coils build so throat hit and flavor are high. Bottom feed is disabled. Mine measured at 1.7 ohms total and worked well right off the bat.

No leaks yet. I did get a little initial gurgling but I was also a bit hasty screwing down that last collar after filling. I blew it out, vaped through the gurgle with the juice control closed and it's working great so far with no more gurgles. The juice control doesn't seem to need much at all for it to wick very efficiently. Maybe a quarter turn initially. I'll have to see where it goes from there as the tank empties.

Bottom line, if it keeps working as great as it is now (I had to put it aside due to nic overload so I admit this is a completely first impression lol), I will buy another. If nothing else, the bling factor is off the charts lol.

As others get theirs I'd really like to know what you think of yours.

Do you have the tiny little black o-ring sitting in the right spot on the bottom positive post, sounds like you may not. Also the cup that has the ceramic and coils in it needs to be screwed down tight. Like I said in a post a couple of pages back, everything needs to be in there correctly and down tight or it will leak. Same thing with my GotVapes Transformer which is similar to the Ithaka clone.

'Bout the same experience I had with the cleaning. As the juice goes down I increase the opening an additional 1/4 turn. I changed out my coils today to 2, 3/4 32 wire coils for 1.3 ohms. There is a good video around about making the resistant + non resistant wires. Not hard at all and the connection comes out small and neat looking. I've gone through about 4 tank fulls of juice. Only glitch was on one refill I had screwed the mouth piece down too much before refill (to prevent flooding) and it stayed attached to the piece with the coils so had to drain, undo and fix.

I definitely need to check that as I play with it. I also noticed that the o-ring for the airflow control is a very loose fit. It really is a piece of jewelry though lol.

One early on question -- is there an easy way to capture the juice while disassembling? Anything better than just use a syringe to get as much as possible? I hate to lose a lot of juice every time I futz with anything in there lol. I have a pretty good handle on different builds but taking it apart without losing a lot of juice is a mystery.

I just carefully and slowly let it drip back into the bottle. It's a pain for sure. It took me a little while to get the Transformer down and if one is not familiar with this kind of construction/build, it may take a while with it. All around it can be problematic at times but it's worth it in the end.

Ok got both the ithaka clone and the oddy clone. Ithaka came with a dual coil setup ohming out at about 2.0 ohms. No extra pieces, and no box but well packaged. Ithaka works flawlessly. I am very happy with it.
The oddy clone came with a single coil setup in the item ohming out at approx 2.8 ohms. It came in a box and with extra o rings and wickand wire. Still trying to figure the oddy out, seems to have a taste to it, I will add an additional comment when I have gone through the tank of juice and put my own coil in.
I am happy with the quality and fast shipping. About 8 days from Hong Kong to Lindenhurst. Keep Vaping!!

I received the Oddy clone also and now have the Ithaka and Transformer. Absolutely like the Ithaka better and find the Oddy, odd and hard to keep juiced up. With the Oddy, as with the Ithaka, cleaning was a must. If there is an odd possibly metallic taste, use Vodka or vinegar AFTER a good wash to get any machine grease out with very hot water. Then rinse again with hot water and let air dry.
Watch out for greased up drip tip, my Ithaka was packed with it.

are you guys taking the pre installed wick and coil out of the ceraminc and cleaning that aswell?

I didn't but disassemble (not the coils), a good wipe and rinse all parts with everclear is a necessity. Mine had a lot of whatever they use to polish it inside of it. I also lube all threads and o-rings with PG to make sure assembly is smooth and none of the rings get damaged. Doesn't hurt to prime the wicks with some juice also.

Well I tried mine out today. Watched Scott's review of the GG Ithaka as a reference when putting it all back together. Noticed when doing the dry burn, it was taking forever for the coils to heat up, so had a play around with the spacing (using the stock coils) and that improved things. Went through the usual process - pre juicing the coils etc and put it all together. Filled with juice and took a few hits, good flavour but not a lot of vapour. Closed up the airhole, wouldn't draw at all, when I opened it up again completely flooded everywhere.

So I've put it down for now. I'm gonna build fresh coils on my day off and check the washer on the pos post - which was about the only thing I didn't check, so that's probably loose. I will get it to work right, just not today
