I'm going to be trying out a T3 when I get my Provari this wknd (Yay!). When ya'll reverse those rings, you're letting them sit flush on the post just above the wicks, right?

Yup, just flip it over and slide it back down where it was before. Mine is actually now attached to the center post of the tube, not on the coil part anymore, but it still seals just fine. So you could just skip sliding it back down on the coil post and just put it on the tube post :)

The free floating "flavour wicks" are originally two separate bunches of strands, but will surely separate after a few cleanings. T3 especially is very easy to re-wick, so I would recommend getting some wick material for re-wicking. Many ecig shops sell 1mm silica wick, and readily available cotton and bamboo yarn/gauze/pad are even better in my mind. The coil base itself will long outlive the wicks.

mrelwood, are you using the bamboo yarn for the flavor wicks too? I just picked up some and ready to rewick the coil but not sure about the flavor wicks.

Yes I did. 3 inside the coil, two on top. But I'm turning to favor the cotton a bit more.

Winter is a bummer since the juice gets stiffer and doesn't wick as well, which burns the wick and even cartos quite fast. A year ago I was a newbie at this so I guess it didn't bother me since I didn't know what to expect from an e-cig.

Thank you Mrelwood! Just rewicked two coils, and its working awesome! How long are they lasting until you have to rewick them and why are you favoring the cotton?

Some have used a cotton/bamboo wick for a few weeks, but I seem to get only up to two tankfuls.

The cotton threads seem to wick slightly better and leak less. Overall more constant behaviour. And I like the slight taste cotton has over the similiarly slight taste of a bamboo wick.

A completely noob question: Do you rewick with just resistive or combination resistive and non resistive? Thanks!

Sure, here you go, this is what it looks like when it's reversed. When I screwed everything back together is when the seal ended up attached to the tube center post anyway. It'll make sense once you try it.

Just an FYI. I have been using the original coil head on one Kanger T3 for over a month now. I clean it every two tanks. I have replaced the flavor wicks a few times with a full piece of 3 ml silica wick. I disassemble and remove the flavor wicks and clean all parts with with warm low pressure running water and and a couple of dry burns, dry and dab the wick with a paper towel . The flavor wicks do not last very long ( a few tanks before they get unruly) but are very easy to replace if you have some wick. I lay a new piece of 3ml silica wick over the coil and in the wick slot, even it up on one side with the wick that is in the coil, replace the center tube and cut the new wick even with the opposite side of the wick already in the coil with a pair of flat nail clippers. This keeps the wick from falling apart and makes it easier to deal with. The T3 has become my preferred piece of vaping hardware with the T2 a close second. I was a 3ml Phoenix guy until I met these. A lot less maintenance with the T3. The only negative I have found is in the drip tip. Many tiny holes and cracks (and I mean tiny) have developed in the plastic drip tip. When I hold it upside down to fill it, tiny beads of juice appear on the tip. It looks like tiny beads of sweat. It is never enough to cause a drip but if I do not wipe it off I taste the juice. I will also add: I use Dekang Menthol exclusively at from between 3.2 to 3.8 volts. I have not used any other type of liquid in this T3. The fact that I have vaped well over 100ml of liquid through this T3 and the original cost was less than $7.00 and it has lasted me over a month is just fantastic. I just hope, as seems to be the norm, that they do not upgrade it to the point of ruining it. An aluminum drip tip would be the only improvement that I would like to see implemented.

Rewicking doesn't do anything to the coil. As the term implies, it only replaces the wick. Coil stays intact.

When I reCOIL I definitely use NR wire for the legs. Twisted legs of resistance wire suck enough energy to lessen the performance too much for me.

I just flipped the cap upside down on the coil so that it slides up onto the tank air tube. This keeps the lip on the cap away from the wicks.

J.R.

Well I was hesitant to do this as I thought it would flood the atty. I was on second tankful after rewicking the coil and was getting dry hits and thought what the hell. All I can say is wow! No more dry hits wicked flavor, th. This place rocks! Thanks!
