I've also been told the quality isn't necessarily good for clones. Naturally the assumption is of poor quality, but I suspect that's not always going to be the case. As you pointed out, the LeCig LC is, apparently, a solidly-built unit, albeit in an absolutely crappy "kit" package filled with substandard extras.

I followed Volcano's Lavatube introduction forum from start to finish and I have quite a different memory of events. They were involved in the testing and some design changes because they were going to introduce it in the US under the Volcano name with a certain amount of time for exclusive right to sell it.

I have no doubt that every unit being sold under the various names have come off the same production line and moved by the same distributor as the Lavatube. In other words, their are no clones unless you consider changing the name makes it a clone.

I dunno, I'm really impressed with it based on what I've seen & read online so far, and have seen a review or two that was very positive. Looking forward to seeing what Busardo thinks of them. Absolutely love the concept, at least, and the features are a lot more than what some of the kneejerk denials have claimed (which is why I don't trust those opinions). You, at least, made your decision after actually using it, so I can respect that, even if my gut tells me I'd still like it. Won't know for sure until I can get my hands on one.

Good luck, hope you get a good one. GotVapes has a forum going on the Tox and a few have the same complaints I had. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/272822-vision-tox.html
For me it didn't begin to compare to my LT for voltage output, or in any other way for that matter. Example I used a Iken i06 3.5ohm atty on both, the LT would maintain 6v, the tox only 4.31 and it was equally anemic or worse on any single coil atty/carto I tried when compared to the LT.

One of the chief complaints about the LT (and clones) is that they've got that circuit protection thingie that won't allow certain voltages to be fully used on different ohm cartos (it throttles back to match what the carto can actually handle). Personally, I like that, but some don't. You mention the Pro Vari, and I read the other day that the first gens did the exact same thing, but that they don't now, so that's a difference to note.

The 2.5amp limit has been an irritation for me also. I was comparing it to the Provari VI which was just a anemic as the LT. The V2 is an amazing machine and I might be tempted if not for all the button pushing to accomplish anything.

PBusardo's review was about as good a review as one could find on the LTs shortcomings due to it's 2.5amp limit.

I was impressed with his review of the Provari V2, really changed my mind about the Provari in many ways. I understand LT has a 3.5 amp version in the works.

FWIW here is a link for the rumor kind of sounds like it might be in the works but I know rumor at this point. When you get to this page go down to the third from last comment per Steve K regarding the 3.5amp and ohm readout.

Hi VPC, that's the origin of the rumor I was passing on. Steve is usually on top of things so I'm fairly confident there is a 3.5A LT in the works. Be really nice if it keeps a form of it's current button configuration with an ohm reading. I may have considered a Provari but for all the single button fiddling just to change voltage.

Add a mini tube size with extenders while they are at it! LT for the win!
Hi back at you Errol, I agree with you and I'd be more surprised if they don't come out with a 3.5a than if they do in 2012 imo. Why not build on a PV that is pretty popular now and make it even better the foundation is already in place. It would be crazy not too imo. :)

Yes, although not available from the manufacturer I've been dealing with, there are extended caps that allow you to use the 18650 as well as the 18350.

Me too, particularly since the Tox made it's market appearance, a pretty poor LavaTube knock off IMO. A 3.5A LT near existing prices would put Tox right back where it belongs, on the design, engineering and quality control table.

Well at any rate, I have these in stock now. I sent a kit to Phil for review. Good or bad, I would like to know his take on it myself. I have decided not to use the warranty and lowered the price instead, to what I think it SHOULD be. Squaretrade seems like a nice deal for a warranty if it is legit. I can see many people loving this, but after getting it in my hand myself, I know it is not one for me personally. While I know the 5ml grande tank is awesome and the protected batteries are a major plus for me as well as the aluminum tubes and endcap, the main top piece appears to be plastic. This annoys me.

Do you have any idea when Phil will be reviewing your unit? Am as curious as you about what he will have to say. :)

Tox 18650 Tube

Fits 65mm 18650

As for Phil doing a review. It is on hold until the proper control heads can be sorted out.

I notice you are advertising your Tox at 3.0-4.2v. Hasn't the factory committed to replacing your original stock with the corrected units? I'm assuming they are working on replacements according to what I've read in the GotVapes forum?

So are you saying the bottom cap is 100% metal and not the original design of metal and plastic that shatters when dropped?? If it's all metal THAT is a big plus! A plastic bottom sucks! It's cheap and crappy. Selling replacements for piss poor design is even worse.
My other issue is that an LCD is what I see on the website and I can tell you most LCD's do not operate worth a crap when cold. Basically I've see many a LCD not work at all below freezing, you get nothing... at all. Will this be an issue? Has anyone tested it in the cold? An american perhaps as I do not trust China for anything.
