For those wanting to reduce their nicotine, I’d like to hear if your experience is similar to mine. My hat is off to those vaping 0 nic.
I started with 24mg and could not tell a difference going to 18mg about a month later. Another month or so went to 12. Might have vaped more at first, but still no problem. Another month or so went to 6mg and COULD tell a difference then. That was too low so saved those juices for home use.
Then a few weeks later I loaded a carto for a golf outing and didn’t realize it was 6mg until I got home. I’m guessing part of it was my body getting used to less nic over time, but also think some of the nic craving might be in my head. Either way, my last 3 orders of juice has been 6mg. Don’t think I’m ready for the 0 nic jump yet, but would like to hear other stories on the subject.
Looking forward to anyone on 0 nic and how you got there.

16,12,8,6,4,3(I cut my 6mg) I can tell when I vape 6mg now and even 4 gets to me sometimes. I cut down over the last year. I went from 16 to 6 in about 60 days. But used 6 for most of the last year. I now use 3 or 4mg. I have never put a time limit on my quitting nic I have just found I don't need much to keep me happy. I do not plan on quitting vaping any time soon even if I feel like I can go to 0mg. I really vape alot socially, so right now even if I got rid of nic completely I would still want to vape when others are smoking and we are all hanging out.

I've only managed to go from 30 to 12 so far... I know I started out too high with 30, because my first vape had my head spinning and my body sweating. 24 was more or less the right spot for me. I really wasn't intending on lowering my nic levels... ever. I enjoyed nicotine and found a healthier way to enjoy it! It turns out that life had other plans for me...

Pretty soon, 24mg was making me cough all the time and my throat was remaining incredibly scratchy. I heard this was a sign of your nicotine level being too high. I reduced to 18mg and all those symptoms went away! About a month later, they started coming back, so I switched to 12-14mg and the symptoms once again went away. I occasionally go back to an old 24mg juice that I enjoy, but the symptoms instantly come back... So I'm kind of hanging out around 12 right now but keep a 24mg carto around for stressful days at work. :p

I imagine that in the future, I'll slowly get down to 6mg... but who knows!

Best of luck!

Just Made the switch from 24, to 12 Myself. I have even made some 10mg juices, DIY that I love, I just need to find the right Canadian supplier for my flavours.

I hope to someday get it very low. I don't want to ever kick the nicotine altogether as I find the idea of controlling a stimulant in my body appealing for various situations. I would however like to limit the chemical dependency by body currently has, as I find myself vaping a lot.

I wouldn't mind so much if I had a bunch of 0mg juice, then I could vape all day worry free and just toss in some 6mg when I need the boost.

Best of luck with your 6mg, I hope to be on the same train in a couple of weeks!

as always, Vape Groovily everybody.

FYI, for anybody interested in 12mg juices to kick the high stuff, I am giving away 50ml in 5ml bottles as a contest. Check it out in the contest forums! Open to everyone, regardless of geographic location!

Yes, I started vaping at 18/24 and within a week dropped to 12.
Somewhere in that first week, I overvaped and felt like crap.
I never wanted to feel that way again,
and since I wanted to vape as much as I wanted to,
I then dropped it to 6 on most following orders.

So now I keep both 6 and 12 around and don't seem to notice the difference.
I still have some of the 18 here and will drop some in to make a blend sometimes,
and I can taste the additional nic instantly and really don't like it, which makes me happy.

Maybe 0 one day, 6 is great for me now, and I can vape away w/o worrying about over-doing it.

When I order tobaccos, I always order 12 tho, go figure. :)

I went from 36 to 12 to 6 to 0 in about 3 months. The jump from 36 to 12 was noticeable but 6 to 0 wasn't bad. I've been at 0mg for about 6 months now. I did have a 'fall off the wagon' moment about 2 weeks ago and had a real smoke so now I keep some nicotine e-liquid in my arsenal in case I have some kind of crazy craving like that again.

The only day to day downside of being nicotine free is that many vendors do not sell samples in nicotine free formulas. To me nicotine now has a distinct peppery chemical flavor which I don't enjoy, so it can interfere with the flavor of a liquid that I want to sample. Nicotine liquids also make me sneeze like crazy now. ;)

I vape about 1ml of 0mg liquid per day now. There is no doubt in my mind that this little indulgence keeps me smoke free.

Good luck with your journey. If you stay focused on your goal, you can go as low/ no nicotine as you like.

I ordered my favorite juices in 0mg and mixed it with the bottles I already had of 6mg. I now still order 6mg from gourmet vapor (my fav) with double flavor and add 0mg pg/vg mix to make 4mg. Gourmet vapor uses 6ml bottles when you buy 5ml so I just fill the bottle to the top when I get it and it is about 4mg (or so my brain thinks).

Newbz - That was usful information keeping some nic juice on hand. Sounds just like something I would do. Get to 0 nic and then have a day I need some. Also interesting about nic having a flavor. I do get a peppery flavor out of some juices, but thought that a flavoring thing and not nic. I have that in my head now. Vaping caremel cappacino and tasting pepper in it now. I just wonder how much of this nic thing is mental.

I enjoy vaping, however I'm going to re-think my goal of 0 nic thanks to you.

It surprised me that after 9 months of vaping and 6 months of no nic vaping I would have that kind of crazy urge. I encourage anyone who is thinking about going the no nicotine route to have a plan for when a smoking trigger hits. If I'd had some nicotine e-liquid on hand, it's less likely I would have smoked that ciggy. Having said that, I was able to go right back to vaping 0 nicotine and have done so since.

Also interesting about nic having a flavor. I do get a peppery flavor out of some juices, but thought that a flavoring thing and not nic.

I suppose some of it could be flavoring, but I can really pick out the nic taste since I don't have it that often. At 18 mg, it tickles my nose and I sneeze. Weird, eh?

Hey, I'm just some hack on the internet. ;)
Seriously, if you go the no nic route just have a little backup nicotine for that rare occasion when the crazy craving strikes. I enjoy no nic vaping. While some people might say, 'What's the point in vaping if there is no nicotine?' I maintain that no nic vaping (for me) is relaxing and I enjoy it.

Good luck, which ever road you decide to take. :)

I started vaping on May 7. I allowed myself to have from 3-5 analogs when I first started vaping and I needed them. I started with 18mg. I went to 1-3 analogs after a couple of weeks, then tapered to 0 analogs and still 18mg juice until about 2 weeks ago. Then I started using the 12 mg a few hours before bed and the 18mg in the mornings. About a week ago I went to all 12mg. I do and will keep all my higher nic for those high need times.

For those wanting to cut down on nicotine in smaller increments, Juicy Vapor offers all of their juices in 0-24mg in 2mg increments, and they have a ridiculously massive selection of juices as well as the ability to create your own fully custom flavours and choose from other people's creations. I haven't tried any of theirs yet but I just ordered 15 different flavours so I'll know soon enough.

I've been vaping for about 2 1/2 months and started out at 14mg but probably should've been at 18 since I had really bad withdrawl symptoms for the first week of analogs. I then moved down to 12mg after about a month and recently went from 12mg to 6mg, which was a bit of a jolt...I was a tad grouchy for about a week. I'm trying to order mostly 6mg juices now but did order a few tobacco flavors (I mostly vape bakery type flavors) at 12mg for those moments when I might crave an analog so I don't slip up. My goal is to eventually be vaping 0 nic with some 3-6mg juices kept for those emergency cravings. I'm in no hurry to get to 0 nic but even when I do I know I'll still vape because I enjoy it so much and would miss the satisfaction it brings me.

I am not using 0nic yet, and don't know that I am going to. I do order the lowest nic level available for the juices I order. I began in February, and went from 18 to 6 after about 2 months with no problem. The main thing if I do use an 18mg nic is that I notice more throat hit, that I don't care for.

i initially quit smoking when i was diagnosed with a minor heart problem. the doctor telling me "quit smoking or your heart is going to keep feeling like it's collapsing in on itself like a dying star" (ok, not his EXACT words but...) really lit a fire under my .... i went from smoking about 30 camel lights a day directly to 6mg carts for my first e cig (the safe cig- over priced crap but i was a n00b so sue me). a pack and a half of camel lights comes to 21mg of nicotine. i would vape about 1 to 1 1/2 carts a day. i can honestly say that i didn't even miss the nicotine. i had no headaches or general .....iness to speak of. i also quit drinking coffee at the same time. killer!

after about a month i went to 0mg but immediately noticed a lack of throat hit, which to me really gives the "smoking feel." now that i've switched to dripping my own juices, i switch between 6mg and 0mg and frequently mix them. i've only found two 0mg juice that gives me the throat hit that i need: cheesecake from Gourmet Vapors - double flavor and monkey bread from Kick Bass Vapor. i'm constantly buying new 0mg juices though to try to find an all day zero vape :)

i definitely feel better when i vape 0mg. i tend to chain vape like a machine anymore, since it doesn't smell up my house and my work doesn't care if i vape while i work. i definitely vape more than i ever even smoked i think! i'm pretty sure that if i didn't have the heart problem and was at a higher nicotine level that i would have given myself nicotine poisoning at one point or another!

sorry for the long reply, but that's just my two cents! good luck! :)
