Anyone using the Zombie Survival Guide Daily Calendar?

Disposal will be a problem. But then again, if there's a huge number of final death zombies laying around, it probably wasn't a great location to begin with! I nominate Friday to be changed to Fireday since it'll be the new start of the Reek-end. :D

I second this!

I'm not too sure about the body burning tip. Sure, most bacteria and viruses can be killed with fire, but there is a lot of potential risk, and it would be a serious drain on time and resources.

True, but would be nice to have a source for not only warmth but for amusement as well. With a good gas mask and decent clothing and gloves, the risk for contamination should be pretty low.

Topic: Solanum; the virus & Nanotherapy

Nanothechnology, the study of microscopic machinery, is only in its adolescence. At present, experimental computer chips are being made that are no bigger than a molecule! One day robots that small will be able to perform tasks within the human body. These nanobots, or whatever the accepted term will be, will one day destroy cancer cells, repair damaged tissue, even attack and destroy hostile viruses. Theoretically, there is no reason why they could not be injected by the billions into a recently infected human to identify the Solanum virus and eradicate it from the system. When will this technology be perfected? When will it find its way into the medical profession? When will it be adapted for combating Solanum? Only time will tell

Hmmm...this is one I think is pure movie fantasy, or at least I hope it is. Can you imagine a world where this stuff is possible? No one would ever die, over crowding would happen in 1-2 short generations. There comes a time when science needs to end and let nature take its course.

I agree...and IF it became reality, I'm concerned with WHO would be chosen to live forever...I'm sure it would be used to create the perfect utopian society right? A world full of politicians & TV reality stars perhaps?:?:

There is a lot of work being done with nano-robotics. It is really interesting stuff. They will be able to become an upgradeable immune system, but we will still die of old age because our cells will continue to divide and that will cause mutations that cause old age.

Personally, though it is very interesting, I think it goes a bit too far. I don't want any robot bugs running arou)*^6 ^^^9876 a9876789 &%(56(&*56 dfs54sd fasdufas sdf asfasdfd

Sounds like the beginnings of the New World Order. The people not chosen will just be harvested for our body parts and used as a work force.

On a different note. One of the reasons I am NOT an organ donor is because if I ever get into say an automobile accident and I am borderline between living and dying, I have a fear that the doctors would let me die if I am an organ donor so they can sell my internals to folks needing them. Paranoid? maybe, but I aint taking a chance.

Yes and no, Mutt. There's still the matter of the 'death gene'. Once a person reaches maturity, there is a slow degeneration of all cells that nothing short of a dna splice can 'fix'. In essence, there's a limited amount of times that a cell can replicate before the coding starts to degrade and starts making imperfect duplicates. Everyone's body will eventually wear out even with all the technology in the world. The only thing that could approach immortality would require you to leave the mortal body behind...

There is a lot to that last sentence. In so many different ways.

I was thinking more along the lines of "7 of 9" when I really get into the sci-fi version of nano-technology...If they're able to grow ears and kidneys now using dna/clone technologies...I bet they will find a way to make a human live forever. But then I read alot of PhilipDick novels...so that clouds my thinking.

Today's calendar topic is "On the Run". It is actually just a page full of questions, that I suppose you're supposed to contemplate. Here's a sampling:

How many zombies approx. stand between you and your destination?
Have there been hazardous accidents, fires, chemical spills?
Will weather be a problem?
Can you think of any information you'd like to have before setting out?

(I personally think that the LAST question sort of replaces and/or negates all the other ones...).

At the end of all these questions it recommends suicide by pistol for the person setting out without gathering knowledge first, that being preferable to dumbass death via zombie hoard I surmise.
