Yeah, that's called "alcoholism".
I'm drinking right now so I'm not
throwing stones. Wife and I are hanging out in the living room and we're having a few drinks (she drinks a glass or two of wine a few nights a week at most). I probably drink more then I should. By some standards I'm a functional alcoholic. By other standards I just like beer. I don't get trashed every night, but have a beer or two most nights and polish off a 6 pack or more a few times a week.
Anyways, drinking when you first wake up is a problem. But you'll notice addictions go hand in hand and since you changed your smoking habit it would be a good time to evaluate your drinking habit and maybe modify it to be a little more healthy.
