What is rba? Mechanical mods? Do you generate the heat by turning a handle or something? :) Seriously, what is a mechanical mod?

rebuildable atomizer, uses coil and wick instead of using a cartomiser. A mechanical mod is a tube mod, that has no electronics inside, basically just utilizing the power from your battery to power the atomizer

I recommend trying a Vivi Nova clearotank first. Not my personal favorite device, but they are easy for a beginner to start vaping due to their easy fill feature. Just remember to frequently tip the device sideways to keep the string wicks wet to avoid dry hits, and not use cinnamon or citrus flavors in them. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3733-6-something-safe-cinnamon-citrus-flavors.html. The Kanger Pro tank is a pyrex clearotank that is also a good beginner device which is safe to use with all juice flavors.

I also recommend getting a pyrex cartotank http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3318-3-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks-review.html. Cartotanks have been my preferred delivery device for several months. They have a slightly higher learning curve compared to the string wick devices like a clearomizer or vivi nova tank, but are worth it in the long run.

Cartotank tutorial: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html
Great, thank you!

Question: Since I would like to try different juices, would you recommend a clearomizer. If yes, which brand/model?

I went to the site to pick the color - any suggestions, by the way? - and I saw something called ProVape-1 Water Vapor Cigarette. What in the world is that? I have read the description, but I am not sure I understand what it is. Is it like regular ProVari, but without any options or something? It does not seem to have the LCD screen...

If I were to get another.. I would get the silver blem and Jwrap it like the one below in my sig. The blemished silver that they have now is an awesome buy! I also have a black and a purple but since they're colored, I don't want to jwrap them. I've been hearing about mechanical devices for years but never was interested until the rebuildables came mainstream. I was afraid to try one because I already have so much invested in Provari's.. was afraid I'd prefer it and then be forced to have to decide to sell the provari's. I do love my Electric Angel and am planning on buying at least 2 more different mechs but the provari's are working right alongside the EA and not going anywhere :D If I were forced to choose.. I'd have to choose the provari over the mech for safety and protection reasons.. not to mention the regulated, consistant voltage.

Each type of device provides a different vaping experience and I enjoy them both.

RBA is the abbreviation for "rebuildable atomizer", a relatively new juice delivery device. Can be found either as a dripping atomizer or with a tank. You build the components yourself: wrapping stainless steel mesh into a wick and wrapping stainless steel wire into a coil around that wick. Not for the faint of heart or the impatient noob.

Not really a fan of clearomizers; this is just based on my experience. I do recommend them to new vapors because of their ease of use and easy fill technique. They can be fussy, inconsistant, unpredictable, sometimes leak. Not safe to use with all flavors as some will melt or crack their plastic - just be careful what flavors you put in them as I pointed out in a previous link in this thread.

Most people who do use clearomizers often recommend Vision brand version 3 or the Kanger T3. Of course, the Kanger Pro tank is a pyrex clearomizer that would be safe to use with all flavors. I'll admit I have yet to use one.

If looking for a device to only sample flavors, I recommend a Nano clearomizer. Only holds 1 ml of juice (enough to test a new flavor) and is reusable. Easy fill like a clearomizer by removing the mouthpiece.

Would you recommend direct dripping to quickly sample different juices? If yes, what brand/model of an atomizer would you recommend?

Not sure I understand; are you saying you have not used Kanger Pro tank yet or you have not used Vision 3/Kanger T3?

Not for me; but Kanger T3 Rebuildable Clearomizer is not RBA, right? It just has "rebuildable" in it because it features a replaceable atomizer. Do I understand this correctly? Thanks.

You are correct. The T3 has a replaceable head that can be purchased separately.

If you have used, or willing to learn how to use a dripping atomizer, that is an excellent way to sample flavors. I don't drip, so I use the Nano to sample flavors. Therefore I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending a specific brand drip atomizer for you.

I have used Vision clearomizers and the Kanger T3, I've not yet tried a Kanger Pro tank.

I like slr vaping but still love my provari's with rbas. 1.2ohms with 30g at 4v is a fine vape.. just as good as I get with my EA. There's still some silver Provari's in the clearance section btw :D
$140 and free shipping

... and there's a SALE? I mean, if it's on sale, I have to buy it... it's like I'm saving money.

Going to think on it until in the morning, but I'm pretty much already sold. Sigh. I should start reviewing this stuff on my review blog, maybe these companies will send me free toys ;)

Not really a sale.. Lately, Provape has been listing "blemished" units for a discount. Most of us can't even find the blemish.. my purple is a blemish and I have yet to find anything wrong with it. These are cosmetic blemishes only. The units are still under the same warranty and work the same. So if you don't mind a tiny scratch, you can save $19. Don't think too long on it.. they take them up and down without notice and sometimes they're gone for awhile. If you get a silver, you can always customize it (like I did) by sending a picture to jwraps and they'll make a wrap (they send 2 wraps of your design) for $22.

Yeah, I'd probably like the size of the mini more anyway... I REALLY like the idea of a wrap though, I could do whatever I wanted which is appealing... Hmmm... better go balance my checkbook first. LOL ;)

It's the standard size that's in the clearance right now. All of mine are standards and I have one extension cap. I looked hard at the mini and they do sometimes list them in the clearance.. but the mini isn't that much smaller than the standard and the 18490 batt gives longer batt life than the 18350. I chose batt life over size.

Be sure to visit the Provari forum and make the obligatory "I ordered a Provari!!" post. LOL

I am 30 minutes away from ordering ProVari :)

Question: As a first time user, I pretty much have to order the kit for $211.95, because I would not save anything by ordering separately or from another site, right?

You can get batteries & charger cheaper elsewhere (check RTD Vapor).

Not sure what else is in the kit, but it may not be necessary depending on your preferred delivery system.

But for convenience I ordered my first batteries & charger from Provape too.

You can also order a blem and save a few bucks.
