Anyvape CVI v1 question

According to GotVapes website, it says:

This is the NEW VERSION of the Anyvape CVI. It is NOT a fix! These are the newest version of the Anyvape CVI with updated motherboard and not the recalled version!

Does anyone know what was wrong with the recalled versions?

Is it possible to buy one of the bad versions if you weren't paying attention or didn't know?

I believe I bought one of these when they were first release, but this is the first I'm hearing of a recall. Is there a safety issue to be concerned about?

I wouldnt go that far but honestly i dont know. Thats kind if why i asked cause the gotvapes website iss the only place ive seen anything about any kind of recall.

So, Concord George, do you like your anyvape? Any pros or cons that you feel worthy of sharing? Ive read and watched several reviews but would loke the opinion of an owner.

Mine shuts off for no reason. Totally unresponsive as if there in no battery installed. I have to reinstall the battery to fix it. It has happened about three times.
These days, I use it mostly to check the res. of my RBAs. But, I don't think it will fire sub one ohm coils. My last one read .9 but it wouldn't fire it.

Also, the ones GotVapes is selling look nothing like the originals. Not sure if they mean that there was an older version of the new model that was recalled, or the it's old model that was recalled.
I thought there was a "recall" section here at this forum but I can't seem to find. The site navigation is off for me because I'm on the Tap a Talk app.

There are two versions now. The v1 and the v2. The v2 looks like the evic. They afe still producing the v1, which is the one im looking at. Got vapes is currently selling both versions ( if still in stock) as kits and mods only 'this week'. I found another place selling the mod only but they have different color choices. This is why i am questioning it.

I pulled the trigger already on it. It should be here tomorrow. Hopefully my impatience didnt cause me to make a mistake.

BUSTED!!! ...I wouldn't say holding out. I did second guess myself after I posted that I ordered it. I was holding back telling anyone because I'm worried I might not have gotten the latest, greatest. Fingers crossed I can brag soon enough.

I ended up going with the v1. The v2 does have the 5 amp limit (the v1 has a 4 amp). That would have been nice, but I preferred the look of the v1 to the v2.

Nope and nope. I got the v1 (not the evic look a like). I'm not going to say where I got it until I know I'm not going to have trouble, but it wasn't gotvapes. They only had the kit at the time I ordered. They are supposed to have mods only selling sometime this week (according to their facebook page). I seen this after I ordered.

Yeah i got it yesterday. I took pictures last night to share but they are stuck on my moemory card. I have to dig around for a cable later and ill share the photo.

I didnt use it much last night. I got a 18350 battery but thats it. No 18650 and more importantly, no charger. If i can fet off work early enough im going to head to ivape and grab a charger, at least.

Ill have pictures later and hopefully by this weekend i can five some feed back. Although i cam can say, so far so good. It is performing just as pbusardos did in his review.

Man lifes getting in the way. I didnt get off work until 930 last night and all i could do was sleep when i got home. After work today i am going to get a charger and figure out how to get my pictures off the memory card, even if i have to buy a new card reader.

One thing i noticed, one of my attys i use for dripping reads 9.9ohms and wont fire, regardless of setting. However i can put it on the ego and it fires right up and another atty i have, same kind, reads/works fine. I dont blame the pv for this, i think its my diy debridge job that may be at fault.

Thats all i got time for now. I gotta get back to work so i can leave at a decent time tonight.

S*** 9.9!? lol yea you might wanna redo that one that sounds dangerous. I didnt even that was possible ,thought 6 was the highest for Ohms

I figured it was an error reading of some sort. I'll take a look at that tomorrow.

Also, wanted to update this thread a little. I still haven't gotten my pictures off the memory card. Typically, I just snap a shot with my phone, but the way it worked out, I used my big camera. It wasn't planned, but it happened and now I can't use just any picture (like from my phone). I'm not sure if I'll be able to knock it out tomorrow, but Sunday at the latest.

I did get to stop by iVape after work today and I bought a few things.
1) A Charger for 18350 and 18650 batteries (others too, but those are the two I will use for now)
2) iClear16 Clearomizer/Tank
3) iVape's Serendipity Juice (at 12mg)

Now that I can recharge the one battery I have (back ups are on the next order), I will actually use the PV. I've only put about an hour or so on it so far, but it will be the only thing I use tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. I'll update when I post the pictures.

The iClear16 I got was iVape's very last one. I have not been overly impressed by the wick type clearomizers I've used to date (the Vision 2.0 Clearos specifically, but a couple others too) Although, I will say this is the exception. I've only put a half tank through it since I've gotten it, but zero complaints so far.

The juice I got is awesome. I was mixed on what to get when I showed up. I was thinking either Grape Drink or Peach, but while waiting to be helped, I heard Serendipity suggested, which then caused me to look up the description of it. After reading, it was decided that was the one and it was not a bad choice at all. I suspect this will be very close to my ADV tomorrow.

After further review, the atty kicking the 9.9 wasn't making contact, as you suggested. If I screw it down tighter than I feel comfortable with, it will fire. A friend of mine had one just like it (same vendor, resistance, etc) and it too would give the 9.9. With his though, it was usable because it didn't have to be screwed down nearly as much. And just to point it out, I have another atty from the same vendor, same resistance, but the difference between the two is it is chrome whereas the others are black. There is no problem with the chrome version... for inquiring minds.

As for the pictures, I've failed in attempting to get them off the card this weekend. I ended up being stranded on the side of the road 1.5 hours away from home on Saturday. So, I'm going crazy trying to figure out what's wrong, how can I fix it and most importantly how much is it going to cost. I'm taking a break from that to update some threads. I should be able to post photos tomorrow. I said should just in case.
