Come on now, how bout some more description, drag it out before posting pics, i like to build up to climax ;)
tell us how you arrived at such a modification, does this brass 510 impart any flavor into the juice path? Adjustable?
The original top cap consists of a very thick brass plate and a brass skirt. It takes a lot of time to get that skirt in place and have it look good. Sometimes it takes a dozen tries to get it satisfactory. Also that thick brass top plate adds a considerable amount of weight and height to the mod. Soooooo..... my thoughts are to simplify the top cap design while adding a bit more character all while reducing weight and build time.

The new 510 i am trying will be the spring loaded FD variety.

hmmm, I kinda dig the top plate like it is....but, I get your reasons...and I do like rivets...and I trust your new design will look good too. I'm not worried about the brass 510 since the juice travels through an ss pin (right?). But did you know that FD is about to release a V5?
I have several different options coming from Dennis including the newest design. I too prefer the original design of the top cap but I had over 10 hrs in 004s top cap before I scrapped it and decided to redesign. I need to get the build times down to a number to keep my price point feasible.

Did Dennis happen to say when the v5s would be put on his site? I'm wanting to try them on my wood squonkers.

Looking forward to a pic of the new design :)

He didn't say. He didn't send me a v5. He sent me his new v4 dedicated bf kit which is what I was needing due to wanting to use a low profile 22mm connector in brass.

I have the spring loaded FD 510 on a couple mods and I get sticking from time to time. It was the reason I thought my buhawi threads weren't long enough. It wouldn't fire and after trying on other mods I revisited the FD 510 and had to work the positive pin up a bit. YRMV.

The most impressive bf 510 I have currently is Rob's new adjustable 510. I'd love that one on all my mods

Dagonit ....PO really ticking me off today. I have two packages that I was unable to liberate from the back room.......i suspect one of em is my missing 18mm attys. Guess I will try again tomorrow am.

Yeah, I love how they treat it like it's their property. My mail guy, who's seen me for 12 years (and very regularly for vape gear the past few years) still acts like I need to prove myself worthy of the package, as if he's considering giving it to me or not... and then he usually gives me my neighbour's mail as well by mistake.

That, and "flight attendants are safety officers who will assist you with some things when they have time" crack me up.

it looks like a good solution Roscoe. Can we see it on the mod?

Not sure about the gear though
I'm thinking anything that is 22mm or smaller can go where the gear is to "personalize" the mod for the customer....just a thought[emoji6]
