guess your gonna hold the pics hostage?
The original top cap consists of a very thick brass plate and a brass skirt. It takes a lot of time to get that skirt in place and have it look good. Sometimes it takes a dozen tries to get it satisfactory. Also that thick brass top plate adds a considerable amount of weight and height to the mod. Soooooo..... my thoughts are to simplify the top cap design while adding a bit more character all while reducing weight and build time.Come on now, how bout some more description, drag it out before posting pics, i like to build up to climax
tell us how you arrived at such a modification, does this brass 510 impart any flavor into the juice path? Adjustable?
I have several different options coming from Dennis including the newest design. I too prefer the original design of the top cap but I had over 10 hrs in 004s top cap before I scrapped it and decided to redesign. I need to get the build times down to a number to keep my price point feasible.hmmm, I kinda dig the top plate like it is....but, I get your reasons...and I do like rivets...and I trust your new design will look good too. I'm not worried about the brass 510 since the juice travels through an ss pin (right?). But did you know that FD is about to release a V5?
Did Dennis happen to say when the v5s would be put on his site? I'm wanting to try them on my wood squonkers.I have several different options coming from Dennis including the newest design. He didn't say. He didn't send me a v5. He sent me his new v4 dedicated bf kit which is what I was needing due to wanting to use a low profile 22mm connector in brass.Did Dennis happen to say when the v5s would be put on his site? I'm wanting to try them on my wood squonkers.
Looking forward to a pic of the new design![]()
Dagonit ....PO really ticking me off today. I have two packages that I was unable to liberate from the back room.......i suspect one of em is my missing 18mm attys. Guess I will try again tomorrow am.
I will post a pic on the mod once I get the rest of the mod fitted ;-)it looks like a good solution Roscoe. Can we see it on the mod?
Not sure about the gear though![]()
I'm thinking anything that is 22mm or smaller can go where the gear is to "personalize" the mod for the customer....just a thought[emoji6]it looks like a good solution Roscoe. Can we see it on the mod?
