I lived in Tivoli between 99 and 06. I loved the area, and I agree that it's gorgeous. My kids and I like to do a bit of walking at the Poet's Walk. However, I too missed conveniences. Moved to Queens for a couple of years, then to a place about 40 miles from St Louis. (also super rural, sigh.) Everyone is making me miss NYC. It was so nice to be able to walk to just about anything I needed.

I found out after living in Rhinebeck for 2 years, that I don't like living in the middle of nowhere. I like my conveniences too much. Don't get me wrong...It is absolutely gorgeous, but rural life really isn't for me. I am acutally much more comfortable in suburbs.
