Yay, it made it from Orlando to my local PO in time to go out today. Gonna go see if the mailman has been here yet. If not, sadly it will be much later this evening before I have it, since I am off to the Orlando vape meet today, and then a handful of errands. (Including more IKEA time )

I vote for none of the above. More of a Djent/Math Metal fan, myself. I do enjoy some of the older Opeth stuff when they were more melodeath and less prog, though. Oddly enough, I find proto-metal incredibly boring.

Not crazy about elf, but love Dio. His stuff with Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and solo was excellent in my opinion. Great voice, perfect for that style of music. (hope that's the elf you meant)

I don't hate the entire sub-genre. I find it incredibly pretentious and naive to write-off an entire music genre. Every genre (almost) has something to offer. It's just not my favorite. I find the more recent bands that spawned from it in the doom/stoner metal vein much more interesting. I also don't enjoy under-production.

That said, I do actually like Lucifer's Friend, Flower Travellin' Band, and a couple others.

Edit: Re-read my post and it read as a little hostile, which isn't what I intended. I'm not accusing you of writing off genres/sub-genres. Just saying that I personally don't.
