Kk.............remember when you had that little incident with the garbage can and the (gross) maggots? Happened to me today but it was
in the garage.
BUT that is not all. Oh, no,no.
A short time before that, I had decided to clean a corner in the garage where there is a pallet and the chippies and squirrels made a mess with sunflower seeds. I'm spraying the area with bleach and I hear kind of a shuffling noise. I think "Oh no, there was a chippy under there and I might have sprayed it with bleach" NOPE...........all of a sudden I see black and white. On the same critter. As in a ............skunk.

I seriously could not believe my eyes. (which were probably as big plates) I was waiting to get blasted but it quickly walked down towards the other end of the garage............but the door was closed. I couldn't see where it was so I called into the house for reinforcements. Went around back to open that door but still couldn't see it. Could hear it but not see it. So
three people are out there trying to see where it is. It poked it's head out and one of them ran back in the house. LMAO. I said "you don't have to worry about it's head, it's the other end"
I decide to get back to cleaning the corner which involved moving the garbage can. Few minutes later my "lookout" says there is a maggot on the floor. Which turned into many more as you know. So I'm moving everything, fighting the

maggots on one end of the garage with a skunk a few feet away and wondering when it is going to get riled enough to start spraying. Finally got them taken care of and I continued taking things out of the garage so the skunk couldn't hide behind them. Blockaded the other side. Always wondering when I was going to find it right in front of my face. We hadn't seen nor heard it for awhile so we thought maybe it slipped out. I went to grab a couple of saw horses from the corner and THERE IT WAS.

That's when you start doing the tip toe through the tulips thing. Continued blocking anything it could get behind hoping it would have only the corner to stay in. Told Janet that anytime it started to turn to let me know. LOL. Went inside hoping it would leave if we weren't there. It did leave the corner but wouldn't leave the garage. I now know they can be persistent when they want to get by something. Broke through a blockade (yeah it was a little lame) and then spent hours under a cart. I was hoping it would leave once it got dark and it finally did about forty-five minutes ago. I slammed that back door so fast you wouldn't believe it. Had Janet stand at the front corner with a flash light so it couldn't slip back in that way and quick put everything back in the garage.
I have to say though that it was a well behaved skunk. It could have sprayed me so many times or charged me but it just tried to hide. Little bugger. I wish it would have eaten the apple chunks I put out for it (hoping it would follow the trail
out of the garage). This drought is playing havoc with the animals though and I know it wouldn't have come in if it weren't very hungry.
So that was my fun and exciting day and since I am exhausted I will wish you all a Good Night.
