I really appreciate the ability to breathe through my nose. I know that sounds strange, but my lungs and respiratory equipment went through some strange contortions after I stopped smoking. Including totally whacked out sinuses that resulted in my (and I am not exaggerating) going through a box of tissues a day for just over 18 months.

My doc prescribed four rounds of prednisone during that time. I was pretty miserable. Then one day it just stopped. "Appreciate" isn't a strong enough word for how I feel every time I take a deep breath. :)

I am grateful for this community. I'm a teacher, and no one I work with smokes. No one I work with knows how much of a miracle it is to quit smoking. Thank you all for allowing me to share my enthusiasm!

Also, I'm grateful that, this year, my husband and I can come in from out of the cold and talk, and vape, and drink wine by the fire. I'm grateful that I love to talk, vape, and drink wine with my husband by the fire. And we will have (hopefully!) much longer lives to do this with, since we are no longer smokers.
