Are all KR808D-1 cartoz created equally?

Where do you get your KR808D-1 cartoz from? I've found them very inconsistent in both vapor and taste from the place I currently get them from. I won't mention names other than a PS on the cart. Not bashing here but my money's worth more than taking a chance every time I order and wondering if what I'm going to receive is going to be "good" or not... Any suggestions out there? How are the cartz from V4L or Vapor Kings?

I always suggest buying blank cartomizers and filling them with you own juice.

I agree 100% with this.
I have used the pre-filled ones, for some reason they don't last as long, the taste turns nasty and the fill does not hold the liquid very good.

I've been using the blank cartomizers for about a month now and have no complains what so ever.

The "Taryn Twirl": More ideas deeper in the thread, so keep reading.

There's a video on that page :)

Yep Taryn's method works great, I even use it when refilling with a syringe.

No, not all cartos are created equal. The standard generic ones from most places taste like, well, a word I won't use here. Best flavors I've found are from Vapor4Life. Still in some ways, because they are massed produced I find them convenient, so I do use them, but hanging around, I fill my own with stuff from Ms T.'s or DIY Flavorshack.

Even the blanks or good carts from V4L can be inconsistent on the vapor. Some do plumes, some do little. I have no idea what it is, I just accept it for the convenience of the unit. If I want plumes I use the HV device.

I've also discovered that I tend to overfill the cartos when I refill or do blanks. I've been putting in the 1ml Leaford recommends and no more, even if it will take it. This seems to yield the best vapor.

There IS a difference between cartomizers.

LeCig empty cartz: The best I have found so far are the ones from LeCig cost of $9 for five. They have very good vapor, TH, and flavor. The one downside is that the white end caps are in two pieces (white cap and separate rubber ring) and are a pain to remove easily for refilling.

Smoke 51 duo prefilled cartz: I believe these are identical in every way to the ones LeCig carries except much more expensive. However, in an emergency basis its nice to know that I can run to the mall anytime I need some.

GreenCig prefilled cartz: My second favorite are the prefilled GreenCigs but are truly a pain in the .... to refill. The vapor is incredibly smooth and fine. Its so fine that it floats in the air like real smoke. The draw is difficult until the cap is popped off and the o-ring inside is removed. These would be my favorite and worth the extra money if they could be refilled easily. The end caps are impossible to remove without damage and must be replaced with another cap.

Nhaler empty cartz: I have also purchased Nhaler empty cartz which have some vapor but no taste and no TH. They also have a burnt/chemical taste that I couldnt remove even after soaking in pga. The one awesome thing about Nhalers cartz is the white end cap. The end cap is a soft rubber 1 piece that has a ridge on the underneath side to catch extra juice. These are extremely easy to take off to refill and require no effort. They also fit perfect in LeCigs and GreenCig cartz. I will buy more of these in the future just for the caps.

GreenSmoke prefilled cartz: Some vapor, no TH, no taste. These also have a soft endcap that is similar to Nhalers but they dont have the little ridge on the underneath side to catch excess juice. They are extremely similar to Nhalers empty cartz and it wouldnt surprise me if they are made by the same manufacturer.

*please note that I have personally tried each one of these cartz and used the same juice (atomic fireball 12 mg 30% vg) from the same bottle in each one these cartz. I am simply expressing my own findings and not promoting one company above another. Each cart has its own benefit and drawback. I have not tried V4L cartomizers but plan to in the future :D

It sounds like you've found the unusual ones, Cielo - I know that the GreenCigs, GreenSmoke, LeCig and Nhaler ones have a different construction from KR808s. (The Nhaler ones are KR808s, I know, but they're somehow a new design I've heard...?)

The standard blank KR808d-1 cartos I've tried - from HealthCabin, Mist-Stix, GoodProphets, Heaven Gifts, Electronic Ash, etc. etc. - have all performed well for me, and all identically.
Sometimes I'll get a bad one that doesn't last more than one or two refills or seems to have some kind of structural defect. I've never gotten a "bad batch" from a supplier, though.
Filling, once you get the hang of it, gets very easy. Avoid the central tube, drip along the wall, keep the end-cap and plug in, use Taryn's spin trick.

I could not stand prefilled ones. All of them, even from The Mighty V4L, give me a nasty tangy undertaste. I don't know if it's the juice or the cartos, but it's like licking old lemon-scented disinfectant off a steel surface.

Im not sure if I have "new" Nhaler empty cartz or not. They are coloured green and the paper can be easily removed and then they are a pretty shiny silver. The rubber end cap they have is awesome for sure. Every cart that I gave my opinion about has been purchased within the past 2 or 3 weeks and I used each one five or more times. The LeCig has given consistent performance even after multiple refills and cleanings.

I just got my 808 today. Works fine, but the vapor seems a bit harsh. Kind of hurts my throat. Is it supposed to be this way or does it have to be broken into or something? Or am I doing something wrong? I put about 5 drops into the little hole on the cartomizer.

I have no idea how to answer your question, sorry! we probably need some more info from you on what kind of cart it is, flavor, mg, pg or vg? Have you ever had this issue before or is this your first time vaping? It could have to do with a number of reasons.

Not my first time vaping, but I still consider myself a newb at this and first time using a manual battery. Seems to hit much better on the USB passthrough with automatic battery. It's an empty cart that I got from Cigeasy, not sure what it's made of. Could it also be that the battery isn't fully charged? I just tried to use it straight out of the shipping box. I will try to charge it and see what happens. The USB one works great though.

If you're using a blank, you need to fill with way more juice than just five drops. You may easily have been vaping it burnt!
(Dripping into the hole through the mouthpiece can also risk flooding into the atomizer air tube rather than the wick.)

KR808s have a thick tube of wick in them that holds 20-40 drops depending on whom you ask and the method you use (yes, massive variation; I get 20-25 myself).

Search for some YouTube videos on refilling cartomizers, or check out the link to the spin trick (lets a lot more liquid settle in there). It's way easier if you pry out the mouthpiece and silicone O-ring and drip directly into the wick first (I always keep the plug and bottom cap on for this).

(If it has a "bubbling" sound and not much vapor you might have gotten liquid into the central atomizer tube (which you can see clearly if you pry off the mouthpiece and O-ring). Just take out the plug and caps and blow a bit into the mouthpiece to clear the tube; wipe off the battery thread, and try again.)

Once you figure out your preferred tricks on how to fill them, it gets easy and quicker from there.
Hope this helps a bit :)

It sounds like the new Nhaler ones, which have the one-piece mouthpiece. Glad to hear about the LeCig ones (I assume you're talking about the KR808d-1 and not their GreenCig ones?). I might have to try a couple of them after your reviews, then!
