Are cartomizer style tanks becoming obsolete/

I started out buying carto tanks, went to clearo's and now I am loving my ProTanks and don't even want to go back to filling cartos AT ALL. My tanks and clearo's(even my iClear30) are just collecting dust on my desk.

I like a balance of carto/tanks and RBAs.

Carto/tank combos are great for on the go and flavor is still great imo.
RBA's definitely deliver a different level of flavor imo and give me those clouds I love to see while vaping.

Cartotanks have been my preferred delivery device for almost a year. I find they give a more dependable, consistant, and more flavorful vaping experience than the string-wicked delivery devices. They in general are more sturdy and durable (I'm not fearful of putting my cartotank/PV in my pocket w/o it leaking juice, unlike a clearomizer or clearotank). They also are not position dependent; they don't need to be frequently tilted to keep the string wicks wet which I find annoying.

The Ox is more my style. We both play(ed) bass and both smoked. In fact, he was quite a heavy smoker and died of lung cancer if I recall correctly. Everyone who enjoyed the Who will miss him.

With all the spending going into vaping at this juncture, and how quickly the technology is changing and developing, gotta believe that there will be lots of changes to the equipment and delivery devices, and not too far off. I'm no rocket scientist, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a game-changer of a design of some new piece of equipment or 'delivery system' was in development at this very moment.

The current choice of equipment and variations is mind-boggling, and I think things will only get better.

Probably true but at the same time I don't know too many businesses that would stop carrying cartos and tank if they continue to sell. Money is money after all.

That's what excites me about this industry. It's in its infancy, and just like the Internet (remember Prodigy?), things are growing by leaps and bounds, exponentially. It seems like designers are listening to users, and manufacturers are trying to appease them (while some see these endless "updates" of current devices annoying, I see it as a burgeoning industry trying its best to keep up). I'm not even a drop in the bucket compared to 4+ year veterans, but I can honestly say, "Back nine months ago, when I started vaping, all I had was..."

True but one of the cool things is that all that old gear can still be used (assuming the batterys have not died). It might be technologically obsolete but functionally it is as good a vape as it ever was.

This is true. My buddy recently got back into vaping after he saw how far it has advanced since his kr808 batteries, modifying atomizer cartridges, and "blue foam". His old gear still worked.

I agree 150%. Feels like the 'Wild West' stage of the vaping industry.

I'm vaping on a Bogger Box Bottom Feeder, Reomizer 4 wraps of 28G Kanthal and a CERAMIC BRAIDED WICK.
.7 Ohms at 4 Volts.

Once the Ceramic Wicks become mainstream it's going to be a real game changer.

No matter how frustrated I may get with cartomizers sometimes i always go back. The learning curve was a little tough at first, but being able to lay the device down flat and not having to worry about juice dripping all over the place out weighs everything. Sometimes I get the urge and fire up a Vivi or Kanger and the flavor is never as good as popping a carto in a tank.
