We don't use ecigs because they're "safe" .. we use them to reduce the harm compared to other effecient nicotine delivery systems.

Only time and research will tell if they're 100% safe.

This, my Friend, is the ONLY correct answer you're going to get that is anywhere near the truth

I am fairly certain that e-cigs are unsafe... in the same way that EVERYTHING is unsafe! You can't even walk down the street without breathing in some kind of nasty gas which could ultimately kill you. Definitely an interesting thread though! There are so many people I'd like to quote but...to the person who declared themself weak because they couldn't quit with patches etc, you're not weak, the products are poor! To the person who said about going walking, I've agreed to go jogging... I'm inclined to believe that e-cigs are having an impact on my MENTAL health- I wouldn't agree to go jogging in my right mind!!!! And to the OP, thanks for starting an interesting debate!x

You're not weak. I hate it when people say they quit cold turkey, and that it's all about will power. It's more about the strength of the addiction, which has more to do with biology and genetics than will power. The trying is where inner strength is shown. You are strong, my friend.

totally agree. i was on 20 a day since i was 13. so 10 years. but i went cold turkey. it doesnt make me a better or more strong minded person. i was helped by several things. 1. my nagging wife who hated the smell on me 2. the price in te uk was really unaffordable which helped . 3. i chose a specific date that allowed me to easily measure my progress. 4. im a very habitual person. i enjoy the feel and the action of smoking. by replacing that action with something else it helped distract me.

does that make me a better or stronger person. ofcourse it doesnt. it just meant i do things very different to people who did struggle to quit. and found something that worked for me. a lot of people arent as lucky as i was that is all.

you sir are completely spot on with the fact the hard part is actually saying to yourself , enough is enough. thats the real battle. and anyone who has tried. sucessfully or not, to quit. have won 1 battle already and should be commended for that.

Anyone know of any published studies on the effects of 2nd hand vapor? I tried googling, but didn't get too much real info..

One of my best friends is all about 'organic, made-in-america, recycled, community oriented, all-natural, picked by well paid people' (etc etc etc) stuff. And I want to keep vaping in his car. But I need scientific, empirical evidence to shut him up. He's all about science..

Ugh.

I make my own juice. It's cheaper, you control the flavor, and you know what is in it. Most of us who make our own juice only buy USDA food grade ingredients. This is my suggestion for all cautious consumers.

I tried that the first year. But considering that no one likes my cooking, its no wonder my juice sucks!

I get a bit upset knowing how much profit the venders make on juice. 3 years ago when I started vaping it was less than half the price for juice.

Just keep it local and stay away from ordering Chinese liquids and I think you will be good.

You still need to be careful who you order from, even if local to your country. There are a lot of great and reputable eliquid vendors. But, there are also skechy people everywhere, no matter the country.
