Yet I hope you know a screwdriver doesn't have to cost $20 to be quality. Right? Back when I worked in a tool & die shop, people brought in expensive tools for the same reason teens wear Jordan's.

Seriously though. Your eliquid is not worth the cost of a vintage Scotch like they are charging for it.

I saw someone at work using a cheap Lowes screwdriver, which slipped when he was tightening down a 480v heater band and have it arc burning one side of his face. The EHS manager collected all the cheap tools and anyone caught using non approved tools afterwards would be fired on the spot...

I think it is worth every penny I pay for it...

If you can purchase the ingredients and make it for less, you are getting bent over...

So essentially anything that you don't agree with sucks or is it anything that anyone else likes sucks?
You're right though you are very pleasant person.

Trying to figure it out

That sucks dude,
I agree though some things are worth a few bucks more, I use snap on tools... I bet I get bashed for that too.
This is really fun,

I can name more than that....as far as price is concerned I'd rather pay a high price for something that is great, than pay a moderate price for crap.

And obviously you are the supreme arbiter as to what is premium and what is crap. Nothing to do with individual preference.

No. I'm not saying everything sucks. Only that business doesn't even the same kind of integrity it used to and people just suck it up. There's certainly a difference between my father and grandfathers Craftsman tools and the ones sold today for even more money.

Not always and it wasn't an electrical repair, just a heater band which had come loose during a run. Pretty sure Ryobi is a Lowes brand. It is only sold at Lowes, as far as I know...

Good point, but I don't think it's worth going to the thread about it...I just can't imagine what good can come from it. It's clear from my communications from them that this is a policy issue, and nothing unique that happened to me. Which is why I'm bring up the larger point. And even from this vendor, I've had positive support experiences in the past, with minor questions etc.

The short version (and I'm sure other vendors do this as well) If you get a unsatisfactory tasting bottle of their juice- they require the customer to send it in on their own dime, then the juice is tasted and decided if something's wrong with it- and if they find it's fine- which is totally subjective: tough luck, you then have to pay for shipping back. So in effect, they now have my $40 bottle held for ransom, that I have to pay 4 dollars more for....just to get back this bottle that tasted bad. And it just gets more complicated from there.

I'm just trying to imagine what other industry where a no-return, exchange, and pay both ways to ship would be in effect. It's about as anti-consumer as it gets, and a sign of a lager problem with these vendors. I don't think a vendor like this feels like are doing anything wrong with this policy... in fact, they are apparently used to us putting up with it. It was clear that I might have been the first kid in the class to raise my hand and call shenanigans.

And I'm doing my best to not outright point the finger at them, because I do think this goes beyond any one place. Hence the thread.

OK, if by this ("the larger point") you mean asking if juice vendors are taking advantage of us, then why did you obviously name the vendor in your original post? You could have just as easily addressed your "larger point" without using their name. Seems to me that you intended to name them. I've never even ordered from Heather's and knew immediately who you were referring to.

Not a big fan of Halo. I have tried at least 5-6 of their juices and literally hated them all. Fortunately I got them from another member here and was not out a lot of money when I threw the bottles in the trash. It leaves me wondering if their flavors were developed for use with ego/tank set-ups as juice can taste radically different on higher powered devices in drippers and RTAs. I was dripping them and...blech...horrible. Maybe they taste better in an evod with an ego battery, but I'll never know.
I originally used them on an eVod and eventually an MVP 2. They started good but the flavor eventually degrade.

Yeah I remember when Rockwell was still making tools in the US......man their tools were incredible, you could use them everyday and still pass them down to your kids...you can't buy tools like that at any price.

WOW - this thread has certainly taken a turn! Wasn't Sprocket's original point that if a vendor is charging "premium" prices, shouldn't they stand behind their product with better customer service??? At least, that is what *I* thought he was saying...Just my :2c:

And, IMO, it matters not what anyone perceives is the price threshold for what can be considered a "premium" vendor. "Feathers", along with others, do charge more than many other vendors. I don't mind paying a "somewhat" higher price from a vendor that delivers excellent juice consistently, and when/if there IS a problem, their customer service is just as excellent.

I'm running for cover on the DIY vs. vendor issue. But, I will say, that this thread has given me a LOT to think about in that regard. I may just try it sometime in the future.

The problem is they went cordless. I bought up a lot of Milwaukee corded tools after they switched to cordless battery pack powered tools. They were selling for sometimes as low as 20% of retail price...
