I don't DIY so 40 cents per mil doesn't seem prohibitive to me for a gourmet juice. A lot of the gourmet stuff sold locally is 22-25 bucks per 30 mils. That's $0.73-$0.83 per mil for stuff like Suicide Bunny, Cuttwood, 5 Pawns. Yeah it's a bit ridiculous, but a FAR cry from "Feather's" 100 mils for 40 bucks.

I liked Halo when I first started vaping but their juices promptly changed flavor on me. Belgian Cocoa starts tasting like a stale Tootsie Roll and Voodoo and Midnight Apple start tasting very chemical. But because of their $20 price, dark blue bottle and fancy graphic, it's precieved as premium.

I've got almost an entire bottle of Voodoo. The only reason I bought it was because someone was in the shop that day blowing MASSIVE clouds, fogging the entire store, and I couldn't taste ANYTHING -- Voodoo, at least I could taste something, so I bought it. Got it home and tried it and YUCK! That is some nasty ejuice.

Got some of their Turkish when I first started -- it made me nauseous. Still got some Kringle's Curse that I got when I first started and it was one of the few I could actually taste, but it's just not sweet enough. It might make a good addition to my DIY chocolate cream.

I've tried all their tobaccos, back when I thought a tobacco vape was all I would ever want; I taste no tobacco flavor in any of theirs.

Yes and No.

Yes as in that DIY is cheaper of course and other companies are offering juice for cheap in comparison. But what do you get? Sometimes with the cheaper juice companies you actually get decent juice that some even compare to the prem prices. Rare. but it has happened and I have an ADV that belongs in that category.

No because of this

I know many could careless because you don't vape the packaging but the packaging on Prem stuff is often fantastic and some of us not only like good flavor, good clouds, but we like branding and packaging. I am a sucker for it and that is going to cost the company and me and I generally don't mind at $20-22ml for something really delicious and beautiful to look at (Just ask a 5P nut) You can't forget that packaging mark up on well labeled and bottled juice while you vape from "fill in the blank" company's plastic bottle. I like collecting all the neat glass bottles and such that are well designed from all the different vendors.

I read a lot of their company stories and many started, just as many here, doing DIY and then it grew to friends and local shop and now here they are. It was liked and loved and then they put that same love into marketing and packaging and it costs. It wasn't like they cooked it up in their dirty basement while yelling to their mom, "yeah I'll be up in a minute!!!" and then slapped a $22 a ml price tag on it. Not all prem vendors are as good as others but there is no way you can blanket statement that THEY are trying to rip us off.

Just a different perspective I guess.

I think the answer is a clear yes, but I'd love to hear what you all think. I truly want to be wrong.

I just had a dreadful experience with my favorite premium vendor...let's call them Feather's Feavenly. You would think that paying $40 for 100mil of juice would get you customer service along with it. But I'm finding that many of these places give the same service as you would get from a pharmaceutical company. And much in the same way- we need them more than they need us, and they seem to know it. I'm just starting to realize how backward this dynamic is.

I know there are exceptions to this, and are some good and caring vendors out there; but then we go to the price. Can these prices really be justified? I'm starting to see why people make the switch to DIY.

Does anyone else get this constant feeling that they have us over a barrel and are taking advantage of our need for juice? I for one, do.

Sorry dude but if your vaping feather's feavenly you're not vaping a premium e juice..that stuff sucks.

Not really. I can easily tell the difference between a $.50 screwdriver and a $20 Wiha...

Wouldn't that would make you happy, since you are out to defend us poor souls who are getting ripped off?...
Yet I hope you know a screwdriver doesn't have to cost $20 to be quality. Right? Back when I worked in a tool & die shop, people brought in expensive tools for the same reason teens wear Jordan's.

Seriously though. Your eLiquid is not worth the cost of a vintage Scotch like they are charging for it.

Not a big fan of Halo. I have tried at least 5-6 of their juices and literally hated them all. Fortunately I got them from another member here and was not out a lot of money when I threw the bottles in the trash. It leaves me wondering if their flavors were developed for use with ego/tank set-ups as juice can taste radically different on higher powered devices in drippers and RTAs. I was dripping them and...blech...horrible. Maybe they taste better in an evod with an ego battery, but I'll never know.
