Wow, thank you ALL for your excellent advice. (Kate, yours was especially informative!) I really want this to work - I did a lot of research before I bought the e-cig and got a top-of-the-line model. This thing fascinates me - I swear it has a "brain" that shuts itself off if I've used it too much (do all the automatics work that way?). At first I thought it was malfunctioning, but then 10 or so minutes later it works like a charm again. The juice took me a while to get used to - it tastes more like pipe tobacco than smokes but it's really nice. (A friend said it tasted like Black Diamond.)

I'm going to experiment with different levels of nicotine and see what works best for me. As another poster said, I really like the aspect of smoking (the draw, hit, blowing out the smoke), I just hate being dependent on a drug that my body needs in order to function normally. There is just something in the analogues that the e-cig liquid doesn't have (thanks for the Beta Carboline thread link), but isn't making the e-juice more like the effects of smoking just perpetuating the physical addiction? I don't know. I'd like to smoke/vape because I want to, not because I HAVE to!

There's a lot to this quitting smoking thing,
I smoked only 2 analogs my first day of vaping after a norm of 50 a day. I spent the next month being a vaping, yet, very tense jerk, no more analogs. Then I got some 36mg RY4 and became a much nicer guy. Then I got sick, the glands behind my jaw swelled up, sore head, sore jaw. Doc says its a cold, it passed, no more swollen glands. Physically, I feel much better, emotionally, yea that too. It's not just the nicotine, or even the oral habit, but that's the best place to start. I don't even know where to go from there, they still don't have a good way to quit drinking without a higher power.
