are there any carto tanks yet that are easier to refill?

I'm guessing advancements are being made but I've looked at the main vendors I use and the refilling portion of it hasn't seemed to come very far. I'm guessing there is some cool stuff out there but I obviously don't know where to look. I heard about tanks that had holes in the top just for refilling them. Anyone know what those are? The ones I use, I have to pull the carto out of the bottom then tilt it and pour it in, carefully avoiding getting into the top of the carto.

There has to be a better one out there!

Somewhere out there
I use pyrex tanks from High Desert Vapes and they have silicone grommets that allow you to slide the tank to fill, I put on the slap yo mamma fill tool and I can drip the juice along the side of the fill tool, works very slick. It is actually easier and less messy than the side screw poly tanks which I also have and use. You need a needle to fill those. bnrk

The Lava Tanks made by JonboyUSMC and Bella - Elegance Tanks made by Hoosier Vapes are carto tanks that use a one-piece mouthpiece top cap that simply twists off the tube for easy filling. No links, just google Hoosier Vapes. Below is mine and a collection of others (not mine) on some Silver Bullets. They also come in stainless steel.

Hm, lots of things to think about. I really like the Kir Fanis tanks but they appear to be out of stock everywhere. Same with the lavatank which looks interesting. I might just try drilling one of my cheap tanks this weekend.

They are usually easy to drill. I just hold the drill in my hand a kinda spin it thru. I use a tap handle for the tap, but a pair of pliers on the end of the tap also works.

Kir Fanis tanks are now available at gr-modders.com

Trap tanks available, the Prive types are shipping 3/15.

I don't have one but the AGR Tank has a top fill hole. Seems like it's sold out everywhere though. I would recommend Valley View Vapes with the side fill hole, won't cost you a lot and great quality but at the moment you will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for you order to process. Worth the wait in my opinion.

I have an AGR Tank and it really is easy to fill. Put it together and take off the little screw, fill it with a needle tip bottle and off you go. I like the little base it comes with because you can use it with other tanks too. It's basically a custom 510-to-510 adapter.

I've seen the Map 2.0 tanks to be the easiest. It comes with a drip tip that you can push the cartomizer with and acts kind of like a slap yo momma tool. I've yet to see them online, but I know my local shop has it in store and maybe able to do a phone/email order. Find them on yelp or something. They're called Vapor Bombz in Anaheim, CA (714) 491-7761

VVV, I believe, uses Plugs not screws for their Pyrex sidefillers. Maybe buy the plugs and use them on cheaper tanks?

Like the concept of these tanks. They don't flood the carto when you put that big cap back on???

I haven't had that issue. The proper technique is to tilt the tank while you are putting the cap on, and attempting to line the air space in the tank up with at least one of the holes in the carto so that air instead of juice will go into the cartomizer. I have to admit that I don't do this, and I haven't had issues with flooding.

In my search for learning more on carto tanks, I ordered the Slap Yo Momma tool which makes filling easier, but also found this thing at discountvapers.com: StainlessDCT Refilling Tool ; Thought it was pretty clever. Based on the reviews though, I thought it would fit into the top of the carto like your tip does, but thats not so apparently.

Well, that's dumb that it doesn't. Have you also see that there are drip tips that'll work so that you don't need to carry the tool around?

My notcigs M1A1 has a screw in the side, theoretically can be used as a fill port though I just use it to lock the tank to the carto. The M1A1 is well built, no leaks after over 18 months of use (just replaced 1 o-ring).

To refill I loosen the screw, pop the drip tip off, slide the carto down a bit until top of carto is just below the top cap, then nudge the carto slightly diagonal and fill from the top hole. Then reinsert the carto through the top cap, tighten the screw to just touch the carto body, replace drip tip.

It takes negligible time. The "key" is that the carto is passed through the topcap using a slight twisting motion, like screwing in a lightbulb. This compresses the oring, makes it easy, instead of shearing it (which will eventually lead to leaks).
