Decided I am gonna upgrade from my pen styles to an eGo. Been shopping around and I have noticed many vendors selling different versions of an eGo battery. Are there many different makers or just one and they get rebranded??? Or am I missing something all together??? Are all of them created equal??? I have also seen one called a vGo. Any info or links to the differences would help. Don't wanna buy junk. Just looking for the best basic 900mAh eGo. Doesn't have to be a passthrough and don't really want a vv.

Joye made the eGo and there have been several knockoffs/clones. One of the better ones has been the Riva. Joye has the best short and charge protection but see recent posts - some have problems no matter where they're from. Your choice. I have had Joye eGo's that have died from old age - over two years now and I fried a few with lr attys that dropped below 1 ohm and fried a few Riva's dry burning. I haven't had a bit of a problem with my new batch of joyetech eGo-c's, eGo-c upgrades or the eGo-c Twists.

Still really confused. Are the threading and shape of these pretty much the same. I plan on using clearomizers to keep it simple. More than likely a T3/MT3 or EVOD. And I want them to look like they fit on the battery. I see eGo, kGo, vGo, Riva, Joye, Joyetech, Smoketech, Vision, etc.... This just confuses me more. Just want the best and most reliable I can get at a reasonable price. This is my first step up in the battery departmentand I am pretty much testing the waters to see if I am even gonna be comfortable using something bigger than a pen style.

All egos have the ego threading for clearomisers. Most are also 510, which is ok w/clearomisers. Some are 3.4volts, some are 3.7, some are selectable from 3.4 to 3.7. Some are automatic, most are manual.

Most good suppliers put this info on the page that you buy from.

I'm happy with the Joye Upgrade 650 Passthrough.

So outside of contacting each vendor how do I know I am getting a decent battery and not a cheap knockoff. What good vendors carry the good eGo batteries.

I would make sure they specify Joye, Joyetech, Riva, Smok Tech etc. The suppliers that carry name will specify the manufacturer because they are a little more expensive. Since 2010 I have had several "no name" egos and 90% of them have stopped prematurely. I included Smok Tech because I like all of their mods and am using their vv Gripper right now.

If you definitely want a 900mAh - a good choice, imo, and in true Joyetech, which has the best short and charge protection, go for the link that Will Afflect gave in post #11. Get two of them with a joyetech eGo charger.

    Joye ego USB Charger

and a wall plug if you don't have one:

    Joyetech AC to USB Adaptor

The kanger T-3 is currently the best combination with the eGo, imo. However litecig isn't carrying the 1.8ohm coils so you may have to go elsewhere for those:

eGo 3ml Tabac BCC (Bottom Coil Changeable) Clearomizer

extra coils: 1.8 for strong flavors, 2.2 for light flavors.... 2.5 seems to weak for my flavors..(which is what litecig only sells )

eGo 3ml Tabac BCC Clearomizer - Spare Bottom Coils

Vaporbeast has kanger t3 for 6.95 free shipping with 2.3ohm head in it I think and 6.99 free shipping for 5 replacement heads that are 1.8 ohm . Good way to save on shipping and compare the ohms to see what suits you best :)

Yeah... ;) Good Prophets has the right Kanger but no 900mAh batt - same with heaven gifts. Some package the T3/Tabac in 1.8, some in 2.5/6 and some in 2.2/3 but no one has both the Joyetech 900 and the T3 in 1.8

I buy all my joyetech ego twists at altsmoke.com. They have the whole range of colors most do not sell. They also sell a knockoff that they clearly label as a non joyetech battery. Its called the spinner and I have those as well and like them. I just love being able to order a different color over the standard black, chrome or pink that most vendors sell.
