Hi, I started vaping a few months ago. I see the SA forum has very little activity. Is there still a vaping community out there?

I started vaping on an ego c and have since upgraded to a chrome lava tube 2.0.
i am now waiting for my vmax ss rev 4 to arrive.
I am using dc sc cartomizers with tanks and vivi nova 2.4 at the moment.

Let me know if you are out there and what you vape?

Hi, I'm still vaping, and browse ECF regularly, just don't have much to add. I vape fairly heavy, 5ml a day, so for me I just go with the cheapest option, ego batts and dual coil cartomizers, cheap enough in SA, and I get 100mg unflavoured liquid from China and mix my own liquid with local PG, VG and menthol crystals.

I get PG, propylene glycol, and VG, just plain glycerine, as well as menthol crystals from my local pharmacy. It's all very cheap, R20 for 200mls glycerine, R80 for 500ml PG. I get 20ml plastic dropper bottles from there as well. The crystals I dissolve in the pg about a quarter of a teaspoon in 15mls, just swirl the bottle in a cup of boiled water, add a bit of vg, 1 or 2mls, shake and leave to cool. Then I top it up with nic liquid.

Hi, yes I also brows ECF regularly, and vaper wall. I am on a REO Grand with a Chalice II on it, and a Provari with a Genisis LF and G tank. My lava tube's top came off 5 times now, so Iam a bit dissapointed in it.

I also DIY, and import most of my flavours.

Ps, I love the rebuilidable attys.

I know this is an old thread, but then again, there aren't too many new ones on the SA forum. I just started Vaping a month ago. Bought a Twisp Neo but I am already looking at upgrading.

Ya nee. The twisp will keep you going back to analogues. Go for the real thing and you will love it. My wife and I both use the Lavatube with the CE5 and the replaceable coils available locally at eciggies. You can import them cheaper but I stay local.

Hey everybody. The Twisp is great to start vaping on but eventually you will upgrade to some sort of mod if you are going to keep on vaping. I started with an Ego-c set in Feb last year. I have now accumulated a Lavatube, 2 Vamos in Stainless Steel, a Zmax ss, a Telescope mechanical mod ss and have a ss mini Zmax on the way. Atomizer wise I moved to the CE4 from the ego c and then to vivi nova. Now vaping on a Terminator C (Oddyseus clone), and various genesis atomizers( AGA-t, AGA Hydra, AGA-S, DID clone and a Mini Cobra).

I rebuild all my coils from scratch. This enables me to choose my resistance and set my atomizers up to perform best on different devices and voltages and also to personal taste. My Genesis atomizers are all set up with 400 stainless steel mesh. Love this set up. Really lie the Terminator set up with silica wick and a 1.4ohm coil. The throat hit, vapor production and flavor is amazing. Can't even try to compare it to the ego c I started out on. This Terminator atomiser is my favorite and main vape at the moment.

As you can see, this has gone from a habit to a full on hobby! Invested in a multimeter and built a mini arc welder to join my non resistance wire to resistance wire required for building the Terminator coils.

Because I have become so involved with vaping, I don't think there is even a slight chance of going back to analogs, just plain boring!

It has cost me a bit of money if you look at all that I have bought, but still cheaper than what analogs would have cost me over the last year and I have something to show for it...and had a crash course in electronics lol..

Hi, I order my wires from eBay. I bought 2 rolls of 100 feet each for about $18 including shipping. That is close on 60meters and should last a long time. There is a thread somewhere on ECF that shows you exactly how to make the welder. I used the flash unit from a disposable camera, soldered two wires directly to the capacitor, soldered a momentary switch on to the flash on switch connections, soldered a battery holder onto the power connections and put an on/off switch on the ground wire from the battery holder. I put this all in a little project box and done. I did add an extra capacitor in parallel that I removed from another flash unit that improved the performance. You pinch a piece of wire in each of the clips, switch it on, charge the capacitor up for about 3 seconds and touch the two wires together overlapping slightly. It is a bit nerve wrecking the first time as it does give off a spark with a noise, but you get used to it...and don't touch the two wires after a charge, it gives off quite a shock! (Talking from experience!). The one in he pic is the one that I built... image.jpg
