I never smoked inside(well not since my oldest was born). Now I vape pretty much anywhere in the house and cars. At work I stealth vape, there is a total ban there and no reason to rock the boat. When I'm with colleague's away from work I still tend to gravitate to where the smokers are. I think it's because those are the people I know and am used to gravitating towards, maybe just habit? I live in a kind of small town, I fully expect to get pulled over at some point, for no other reason than to satisfy some bored LEO 's curiosity;)

I'm in king county Washington and its not allowed anywhere inside in the county but me, I guess I am a bit of a rebel as I don't really give a rip and am vaping everywhere I went today, started in a physical therapist office, went to jack in the box and then to the doctors office.

Sent from my truck using 3 toasters a broken microwave and 6 rubber bands McGyver style......Chuck Norris aint got crap on me

Well, I used to have plausible deniability....

I tend to stealth vape in stores mostly just because I know I'm going to be in there forever and prefer not to deal with any hassles. A quick stealth vape or 2 helps keep me happy calm and mellow where before I would be ready to run people over....

I have had cops look at me funny when I vape while driving past them but haven't been stopped yet.

I openly vaped at a bar in a small town. I really thought the bartender would say something but since she couldn't pour a drink to save her life I think she was just happy that we stayed and spent money...

I vape anywhere, the worst people can do is ask me not to. Sometimes I get a strange look or two, but people see its not a cigarette and they look away. I vape at work, in stores, resturants. My wife gets on to me more than anyone else. I dont stealth vape. I guess I should be more discrete than I am but I want to see how far I can push things. I've never had anyone say anything to me yet, I'm sure it will happen bu not yet.

I vape everywhere- discreetly. It's why I like my REO- no one knows what the heck it is. I vaped no nic in the hospital for 4 days while I was having my son. On the very last day the midwife asked what it was...the nurses knew already, and wanted to buy them for their friends and family.

I stealth vape on planes as well, but I typically fly out of Canada on European airlines, so it's not illegal.

I guess I'm moderately bold. I am not "in your face" about it, really. I just vape more or less casually...like I have nothing to hide. I'm a little more stealthy around "authority figures" like security guards or bank managers...but I don't act sneaky...just a bit more discrete. I've vaped in several doctor's offices, in the emergency room and my hospital room. At Mayo Clinic when there with my husband. In Mickey D's, Hardees, Chick Fil A, Burger King, etc. In movie theaters. At Target and Dollar General and the grocery store. I even wore my lanyard out...openly...when applying for assistance with my elec. bill this week. Pretty much everywhere. No one yet has challenged me. A few have asked me about my PV and I've extolled their virtues to them. So...I'm reasonably bold.

I don't vape anywhere I never smoked. Just don't need the grief.
The major airlines here expressly forbid the use of e-cigs.
No, airlines here do not ALL expressly forbid the use of e-cigs. That is up to each airline and there are a few that do allow it. That said, I would still stealth vape as much as possible on the planes that do allow it so as not to cause any undue commotion and then have it banned.

I vape everywhere. You see, I am older than a lot of you and used to be able to smoke everywhere. I remember using the ashtrays on the planes, heck I have even bought cigarettes on a plane duty free.

I don't consider it bold or rude. Rude would be billowing clouds of smoke anywhere it may bother others around you. I merely mind my own business, keep the vapor to myself as much as possible. I have vaped in the doctors office, restaurants in a few states, on planes, at the airport, in bars, at the grocery store, at the dentists office, and I am sure other places I can't think of as well. And I have been vaping less than 2 months. No one has ever said anything to me in any of these places and I surely don't hide it. I just respect those around me and don't make a spectacle of it.

In my opinion being bold will burn you or for the next guy. We have to have an etiquette. If you do stuff like that you'll tick off someone and then a ban movement will kick in. I don't know the rules on a plane for vaping but i bet the it's not allowed. If you do that then they may start picking them up at the security stations soon. I do what is closer to when I smoked cigars. I do not do it in a crowd. I us it sparingly in my support group in a corner we have claimed for vaping. We do not do a lot. We mostly go out with the smokers. Start anthologizing and we will lose. Be respectful of someone misconception of what it is. They don't know what it is. Plus you have the control freeks and nasty ex smokers who are the worst. I know I quit for a while and was one of those #$#$5holes. Remember we have an obligation to the next guy so we don't mess it up for them.
Wow I climbed way up on that soap box. Time to come down. LOL
In flying they have a saying. There are Bold Pilots and there are Old Pilots but there are no OLD BOLD PILOTS. Don't mess it up for the rest of us. LOL opps got back on for a sec.
My two cents worth. For what ever it's worth.

I doubt they will start "picking them up at the security stations" . They don't take people's cigarettes do they? They don't allow batteries in checked baggage, so on the plane they are required to go.

Each airline makes the rules, be very sure the airline you are flying on does not prohibit it. Some will announce it when they announce no smoking. Some have it on their website. Some even have it printed in the information provided in you seat pocket. If they do not prohibit it, commence stealth vaping.

Respectfully, I have to disagree with this. Vaping doesn't fit ANY of the criteria that has gotten cigs banned in public places. People need to educate themselves about what it is and isn't. If Rosa Parks wouldn't have been so uppity and just sat where she "belonged", She, and the rest of Black America might still be sitting in the back of the bus.

Well put and eloquent.

I treat it mostly like I did smoking cigs but do sneak a few in here and there, mostly at work. I still go outside for "smoke" breaks. Being that there haven't been long-term studies done, I don't vape in the house for the benefit of my pregnant wife and future child.

Hmm, good bunch of thoughts, it might something I should consider. The less it resemble a cigarette the better.
Maybe I need a mini that resembles an Inhaler

you got to check this out then. it is a vaporizer for herbs and tobacco rather than e-juice, but it's basically exactly what you're looking for :p

I agree with your call for etiquette, but what's going to get us burned in the end is ignorance. We've all heard the whole "anit-freeze", "boy golly we don't know what's in these things" arguments that lead to bans. That's not stopping. It will get worse. By being a nice, polite, reasonably bright vaper we're showing that these things do work, we've obviously not been poisoned, or endangered by an ecig in any way shape or form.

DH and I vaped in the hospital with the full blessing of the nurses. They deal with nic fitting patients all the time (or worse- the people who couldn't quit and got sick), and thought our rigs were wonderful- especially after we explained everything to them. They're going to get banned from hospitals, and other places- it will happen, but in the mean time we can educate as many people as we can about them so that we help the next person down the line.

More vapers, more vocal vapors, more involved vapers, and a stronger industry will help us combat the ignorance. Slinking off into a corner will not.
