In the UK things are a bit different.
You are still considered a smoker (by the NHS and insurers) if you consume nicotine in patch, gum, e-cig or any other delivery method.
In order to be classed as a none smoker for insurance then you must have abstained from Nicotine for over 1 year (more depending on the policy).
It is a shame as even though I have not smoked a cigarette since 5th Jan 2010 I am still considered a smoker by my doctor and insurance company
