I only vape, and though when I started I never thought about quitting vaping but right now my nicotine addiction is at such a low level that I can go through a day even without vaping. Just that I am so heavily invested in equipments and juices that I might just keep vaping recreationaly for a long time.

I haven't had time to read the whole thread to this point, but just to weigh in on dual use - I did it for a month or so, and tapered during that time from 15-20 a day to 5 or less. Wife finally pushed me to quit by just saying something along the lines of "We're going for it - tomorrow."

Since the banner start date in my sig I've had one or two - most recently last July 4, when I lit up my trusty Marlboro Light 100, got about halfway through it, and stubbed the .... and grabbed my Ego instead. A couple months later I gave the last 4-5 cigs that had been sitting in that pack as a kind of 'safety blanket' to a smoker buddy who'd come over to hang out and ran out of smokes. Haven't looked back since. My wife likewise had a couple relapses in the first few months, but after a cig (or half a cig) put them back down for the vape.

No hate for the people who either choose to still smoke or feel like they have to smoke still - if you decide to quit one day, right on. If not, just count the ones you're not smoking and be happy with that - you deserve to.

Yeah, I guess I'm in the "duel camp" at least I am some days.

My wife (of 14 yrs) and I are separated and some days vaping just doesn't cut it. I try not to smoke though. I've gone from 2 pad to maybe 5 cigs some days and zero on other days.

I must admit, I hate the taste of a cigarette now though and when I do smoke, I usually have to put it out about half way through. I guess it's a "comfort" thing?

I have been vaping for nearly 5 years now.
I have considered myself a non-smoker for that entire time.

Do I still have a cigarette once in a while?
Yes, maybe once every month or two at the most.

But I don't have a cigarette because I crave one or because I need one.
I have one just because I feel like having one.

I could just as easily NOT have it.
But I'm not trying to prove anything to anyone, including myself.

So I have one.
:)
