Are you stockpiling / hoarding due to fear of the upcoming FDA announcement?

I prefer to see what FDA does next without the fantasy projections.

Agree... But that is exactly why I am buying up extra juice... If they do nothing I can still vape up the juice if they do something I have enough to last me several months..

Which BTW, is why I started this thread.. I wanted to see if others were stockpiling supplies..

Your logic, Mr. Spock, is flawless as always. (Those are pointy ears, yes?)

They already have a history of seizing shipments of anything electronic cigarette related.

It took the Supreme Count to stop them...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ads-everything-relevant-njoy-vs-fda-case.html

Minor nit: It was the DC Circuit Court of Appeals that stopped them. But for all intents and purposes, that is the second highest court in the land and their decisions become precedent for all other circuit courts unless the SCOTUS grants a writ. FDA chose not to appeal to SCOTUS, so we're done with that battle. The good guys won.

That Soterra decision absolutely defanged and castrated FDA. They are now stuck in a classic Catch 22 and I think they'll punt, just like they did on the herbal and food supplements that has made money for GNC hand-over-fist.

We still need to be vigilant and vocal, but we have the advantage now.

To my knowledge, there is no proposed or pending legislation in either the US Senate or House of Representatives regarding e-cigs.

The Asst Majority Leader can call on FDA to regulate all he wants. But FDA has no teeth on this and they know it. Any of the worries expressed here and in other fearful threads on ECF would be about as enforceable as banning bubble baths.

The only real victims of an enforceable regulation would be the manufacturers of disposables and preloaded cartridges that can't be refilled.
Thats the problem it most likely wont be to our knowledge. How much pork was added to the senate immigration bill? Billions that had not one thing to do with immigration.

I think if there will be a ecig bill passed it will just be forced out threw taxes and regulation when it becomes noticed. Its always possible that there could be some silly anti ecig tacked on to something.

Hell very little is above board anymore they just kinda do what ever they want never giving any thought to the consequences. I see no way to predict what is going to happen the best we can do is try to be diligent and make a good showing for our selves and hope all stays well.

That's just not going to work.

The powers that be have realised that not smoking means less revenue.

They want to get the cash back.

We are the target (low-hanging fruit).

It's my job to know what the Congress is up to.

I'm a policy wonk, which some people might call a lobbyist.

If the above link leaves you with ANY questions, just ask.
Those of us who have been fighting this battle for years can fill you in.

Welcome to the fight.

It is 2013, not 2011. The Federal Register is a database that provides dates for proposals for all federal agencies which are currently considering 'actions.' There is nothing listed for the rest of the year under the FDA as it relates to e-nic.

I started vaping April 1st of this year, sure I dabbled a bit from 07 to then but that was with cig-a-likes and they could never get my to quit analogs. April 1st I drew the line in the sand and cold turkey quit. I had extra help in that I have a medical condition that is up and down and so far undiagnosed so it was easier for me than some to get away from all those chemicals in the analogs.

I've had a tinkering mindset since I was a child so I've built a lot of coils and messed around with all the easy stuff that can be done at home (sans juice, I have an order of nic and flavors and such incoming) but so far have not done any of the harder things like building my own PVs, but I plan too. To fall in love with this hobby when I was just trying to quit smoking is wonderful, but to learn that it may get regulated in the abyss is unacceptable to me. Not that I can really effect any change, sure I write letters to officials but I don't even know if they really read them. I will continue to do so either way.

I've been a lurker here for a while and it's this site and others that have helped to find a new hobby that is not only fun but has finally got me off the stinkies. In these few months that I have been a full time vapor I already feel my age, in stead of a third older from all the smoking. I can get back to what I like to do in my spare time, which either exhilarating or very painful depending on the outcome. After my last lawn dart I was laid up too long smoking and got too far out of shape and vaping has gotten me back into the gym (which is in the living room so it was just laziness and lethargy keeping away from it) and out of the house doing what I like to do.

It's late and I'm rambling....Stockpiling...not yet I guess would be my answer but I will be buying more nic if I can make decent juice. I have cut down to 6mg from 18 a month ago. I did this just so if I break a device while out riding I wont be tempted to either over pay for a disposable or god forbid buy a pack of cigs.

One more thing and the novel is over I promise, I'm in socal, I don't have a hell of a lot of time to keep up with things but if there is a meeting or what ever you want to call it where we can go and voice out concerns and tell out stories I will try my best to attend and if anyone wants to car pool I'm in. I can't be the driver though as I only have bi pedal transportation for the time being. At the end of the day this is all about money and I wouldn't be surprised if this keeps getting delayed until the big tobacco companies and get their research done to see if they want to jump on the band wagon and get in on this. If they don't then you can place a fairly confident bet that a lot of regulation will come down the pipe, if they do plan on seeing FSC E-Juice mandated

I wish I could wave a magic wand and let you know that they DO make a difference.
They make a big difference.

We win more than we lose, and that is because we fight.
And the more of us that fight, the better the final outcome will be for all of us.

You are doing what's right, and you ARE making a difference.
That is more than I can say for a lot of vapers.

EDIT: And by the way, I lived in Lake Forest for two years.
EDIT: Hey, it's better than Irvine.
