I ask this question because I'm concerned if we are getting enough or too much nicotine.

I'm finding myself smoking / vaping for longer in duration and frequency than I would have on a cigarette.

So lets create a combined duration and frequency term, and call it a session.

Is your current sessions more or less now your vaping than with analogues?

A lot of the posts on this forum refer to "constantly vaping," Or, "I cant put it down" ETC.

If this is the case, then why not just increase the Nic level of your liquid and go back to the same "Sessions" that you previously did?' If you want the reverse, when you smoked analogues why didn't you decrease the nic level and smoke more often?

If the answer is "Because I enjoy it more" then I believe we are not doing the right thing?

I cant answer the question of increasing the nic level of my vapour because I'm a noob and haven't got that far in this experiment yet.

Would really like to hear some long replies and not the simple one liners.

Thanks,

MT

I haven't been doing this very long either. However, I have come to realize that I need to increase my nic level.
I smoked @ 2 packs a day of Marlboro Lights. Thinking that a "middle ground" would be a good place to start, I began vaping with 18mg liquid. It's enough to keep from smoking analogs, but I want to almost constantly vape... chasing satisfaction.
I had a small sample bottle of 24 mgs and realized, only in hindsight, that I vaped less often when using it.
That said... I guess I should order some 24mg stuff!

I did answer "yes" to this, with a caveat. I've only been at this for less than 24 hours. Also, I find that I am dragging off the 510 less often than I did off of a cigarette, so I may only take 3 or 4 drags of vapor for the 10 to 15 I would get off of a cigarette. However, much of my smoking habit was dictated by environmental restrictions. My lovely better half is a non-smoker and, out of respect for her, I have not smoked in the house for the last 5 years. With vaping, the smell does not bother her, so it's not an issue for me to take a drag inside. I run into the same thing at work. I can take a stealth drag and nobody is the wiser.

Am I doing the wrong thing? I don't know. As I said, it's still new to me and I may end up slowing back down. I certainly do not want to replace one habit with the other, but if that is what happens, I won't be heartbroken. I am still saving money and, while I do believe nobody can state with any sort of authority whether there are health issues or not regarding vaping, I find it very difficult to believe that vaping carries the same level of health risk that smoking does.

That's just my $0.02 at this point, and you may not even get that much value out of it. :)

If I sit around and vape for an hour straight, it makes me feel sick.

Not me,!

And this is the reason for my thread.

I can Drink tones. I can smoke tones, And I tried vaping on 16mg constantly for two hours.

I got a little head rush (And enjoyed it) but Iv never felt ill yet!

I Dont want to increase the nic level as, im trying to stop smoking (Haven't had an analoge since i quite) but it seems you can just keep going with these ecigs and not feel bad!????

I think that when most people switch to ecigs they do vape more than they smoked. I know at first I was never without an ecig hanging from my mouth. It was like a pacifier. I had to be sure that when I needed/wanted that hit of nicotine it was there for me to take. Now I have slowed way down on how much I vape and actually go for a couple of hours without it. I have also dropped my nic level from 20mg to around 12 using 24 for kicker when I am stressed. I was using 36mg for the kicker but I don't need that much anymore.

Everyone is different so there really isn't any one good/right answer to your question. It is all about personal needs and wants.

Several people have proposed that although the amount of nicotine you inhale remains the same, the amount absorbed into your bloodstream is less. Hopefully someone has a link to one of these threads?

It has also been proposed on here that we are not just addicted to nicotine. When we quit, our bodies crave a lot of the 4000+ chemicals in analogs, which would cause us to vape more trying to satisfy cravings for those chemicals.

I do chain vape, but have dropped the nicotine way down (using between 5 and 12mg for the most part).

This morning, I actually got out of bed and it didn't even occur to me to grab my PV and juice before I headed down stairs. That is a first! I did just grab another one down stairs, but had to run back up after I got my coffee going since my favorite glass dropper bottle was up there.

Seems to me, the nicotine cravings are gone for the most part (cig free almost 8 months now!)... there was a time that I woke and thought of a cigarette before my feet hit the floor in the morning. I'm glad that is gone.

Been vaping for a little over one month now. Used to be just under 2 packs of American Spirit Lights per day.

I started with 18mg juice and vaped constantly, like a pacifier. Went up to 24mg and did the same. I finally ordered 36mg from TW and finally felt satisfied, however, vaped alot even at that.

I am now at 48mg (menthol) and using a Silver Bullet at 6v. I now take a 'hit' every now and then, use somewhere between 1-2 ml per day, and finally feel satisfied after doing so.

I realize that most people reading this would be surprised at the high mg juice, however, the pacifier-mode was just becoming tiresome with no feeling of satisfaction. I personally think it is a mistake to try to keep the nic level down, in the beginning anyways. In time I'll begin to reduce the nic level, little by little.

I've been vaping only a couple of weeks. 1.5 packs lights a day smoker for 40 years. My first nic level I got was 11mg. Non stop vaping. Next level I got 16mg. Don't seem to 'need' to vape so much with the higher nic level, but 'want' to. I enjoy vaping more than I did smoking! Hubby hated me smoking, but don't care care if I vape 24/7! Haven't had an analog since my first vape! I do notice, however, that I'm as .... about making sure I've got all my 'vape' supplies on hand as I was about making sure I had enough analogs to last me. Exchanging one habit for another? Maybe, but, at least my vape habit don't bother other people. They're all getting what they want (no second hand smoke, no tobacco smell, blah blah blah) and I'm getting what I want (my nic fit, my 'smoking' action). I figure its win-win for everybody. They're all happy, and I'm happy.
