Long but interesting thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/nicotine/44958-so-we-getting-we-not-nicotine.html

Seems that Dvap has worked out a formula for nic that works for about 75% of the people. Also, there are many things in ciggies that are not in eliquid which can leave you feeling like you are "missing" something no matter how much you vape. Currently, I am a chain vaper for this very reason. It gets me past the bad "need a ciggy" feeling though and doesn't make me sick so it's all good!

My vaping is a lot different than smoking a cigarette. When I smoked, I sat down and smoked my whole cigarette. When I vape, I take 3 or 4 puffs, then I'm done for a while. I never lit a cigarette, took 3 or 4 puffs, put it out, then re-lit it. That's what I like about vaping, I don't feel pressured to finish it so I don't waste it like I did a cigarette.

chain vape? yes. I chain smoked too though. Now 2-3 hits and then wait a few minutes. With analogs you gotta hit till it's out.

Exactly. That's why I think it's about the same over the long run for me. Rather than constantly taking hits from the time I light up a cig to the time I put it out, I keep my PV handy and just take a couple of hits every now and then. So while I may be vapeing more frequently, the "sessions" are much shorter, making it even out.

I think this has a lot to do with how the nic is absorbed during vapeing vs. smoking. The frequent vapeing provides low and slow intake to maintain my nicotine level, while smoking provides a high and quick intake that satisfies for a longer period.

I read somewhere that if You where a medium to heavy smoker, You should vape lower nic. specially if you see that you are becoming a vapor fiend. Thats in order to avoid a nicotine overdose.

If you just vape lightly, 3 to 4 drags now and then, You can use higher Nic.

It all depends on how much control you have over your vaping.

I'm a vapor fiend so I been using only DIY juice 0 mg nic all day. taking 2 or 3 drags from a 16mg cart ocationaly. But, looking to become Nicotine free very very soon.

That is why You have to balance things. If You know You are chain vaping and find yourself with a PT glued to your hand, use low nic or 0 nic. (assuming You are trying to quit on nic)
If you have no problem just vaping a couple of times a day but still need Your Nic, then go ahead and use higher nic levels.

Used to be about 6-7 cigars a day (and 1 1/2 to 2 PAD before that). Now, one of my PVs is pretty much in my hand/mouth any time I'm awake. Nearly three months in, I have cut down to 11mg juices from the 36mg I started with, though. And I think I've started to figure out that I can put them down for a few minutes now and then, without worrying that they're going to disappear from my life.

Much of my current addiction is based on "hand to mouth". So I am finding that my sessions are longer and more often because i don't have to feel sick, dizzy or guilty. With that said, I'm also using 0mg juice for most of my sessions since i struggle more with the oral fixation than the actual nic addiction. I only use nic juice (24mg) when I REALLY need it.
