Mine definitely does, but from what I can tell it's entirely caused by condensation inside the chimney chamber. There's condensed vapor caught in there every time I open it, which also happens to be right where the airflow holes enter.

So, leaking yes, but not technically from the tank's liquid. I don't know if my builds have been unusually prone to that, maybe it's not an issue for others. But I definitely can't leave it on its side in a pocket. It wouldn't leave a puddle but it would leave a stain.

I just spent about 3 hours trying all sorts of builds. Even that single coil in between the posts (vaped worse than a cig-alike). I was thinking maybe I just can't do a TC build for this particular atty, so I decided to do a Kanthal build. It's been a fun experiment, but I'm not 100% sold on TC anyway, so no biggie. I made a dual 26G spaced, 2.5mm...went crazy, for some reason, and did 10 wraps. It came out high for a dual coil...1.2 Ohms...and it jumped every time I hit it....anywhere from 0.8-1.5! As you can see, I'm new to dual-coils. However, it was vaping ok so I figured I might be on to something. So I ripped it out and redid it using only 6-7 wraps (I forget), and it came out to a stable 0.45. It's vaping great at 35-50W.

When I did that final build, I noticed my V-deck wasn't tightened all the way so I tightened it. However, that made it so I could not see the coils through the airholes. So I loosened it a bit...is this what you meant? I thought you were talking about the base (and not the deck). Maybe that's what was wrong with my TC builds (tight deck). So I intend to try them again, but atm, this Kanthal build is working flawlessly.

Also, I went back to horizontal, but I made sure I cleared the spot directly below each coil so the air flows above and below the coils. I think this is important since in my previous horizontal, that spot was packed with cotton and it's probably one of the reasons it vaped horribly.

I still wish I could set it just a teeny-tad more restricted, but I can probably get used to it. So, atm, the jury is still out if it's my favorite. However, it's definitely a contender, and it wouldn't surprise me if it does become my favorite the more I use it.

Finally, I have been trying to chain hit it (as much as someone with Asthma can), and never even came close to a dry hit.
Hi Zombo...I've been using the RDTA for TC and it's been great. My current setup is dual horizontal 32g twisted at 10 wraps 2.5mm that's giving me approx 0.07 ohms. Currently vaping it at 35J - 38J at 420F depending on liquid. The cloud and flavor it produces is awesome.

For the airflow to coil alignment, I would suggest to twist the top portion of the tank slightly to align it as loosening the deck may cause resistance to jump around and the deck getting stuck to the top part as you have described. The bottom oring is thick and is ample enough to have the top tank loosen slightly without causing any leaks.

Does this leak when you lay it on its side? I'm sick of tanks that I can't pocket when I'm on the train.
To be frank, leaking will depends on how the deck is wicked. There are several people that have left the tank sideways for a few hours or long periods without any leaks (posted on Steam Crave's fan club in FB). I personally have not encountered any leaks but I seldom lay my tank down sideways.

Soooooooo. I stumbled upon this thread and hardware because I was thinking about getting the Aromamizer RDA. The search function here is evil sometimes. I might just grab both now. Anyone here used just the RDA? I was going to grab one for flavor testing.

aromamizer with velocity style deck is on the A list.

So.... Anyone have the aromamizer w/velocity deck at a good price?

Also this^^^^^^ because it's stuck in my head to get one now.

Ok, so a new day has dawned, and a new must have tank has risen. Apparently last week the uwell crown was the must get tank, today it seems the aromamizer with velocity style deck is on the A list.

I don't think that's true, the RDTA has been a great tank for months, and has been the only tank of its kind until recently (youde Bellus has similarities). Comparing it to the crown isn't really a comparison, one is a subohm tank, the other is a unique RDA-like RTA experience.

Its not just now a good tank because some strange man on youtube says so I guess is my point.

As far as price, last week you could find them on youtube for $46-48, not sure if that has changed. SteamCrave has them for $50. VaporDNA had them instock for $50, but if you use the friend referral code for $10 off 35 or more, that'd knock it down to $40. I picked a second one up last week from Smog's fall off the back of a truck special for $30, but he sold out since.

Check my Skyfall thread as I just posted another $10 off couponcode for Vapordna yesterday. My first one in the initial post might be expired, but look at the end of the thread for the newest one.

Here it is: http://vapordna.refr.cc/R46GFML

So i broke down and bought the Velocity style deck directly from Steamcrave, which finally came today.

They instead sent another 3 post design. Yay. Looking up their contact info, I guess i'm stuck in the no phone # to call email abyss now lol. The downside to buying Chinese i guess.

On the plus side i also got a 2 hole band though, so i can finally ditch the tape i have covering the other 2 holes :)

I have the RDA sitting on a Reo right now and I'm enjoying it. First off, it's big, about the size of a lug nut on my car. Secondly, it's a tricky build. I did a standard build my first time through and the vapor was anemic (having forgotten how important it is to get the coil as close to the airflow as possible). I managed it on my second build by placing the coils as close to the edge of the base as I could and as low as possible so that the airflow from above comes right down on top of the coil (and doesn't short out on the cap...you'll need to ohm this one out for sure). What I haven't tried is placing the coils above the posts so that they're in the air chamber proper. That might work as well but could pose a wicking problem being so far off the deck.

I did a .5 ohm build with 26 awg kanthall (7/64 drill bit/seven wraps) using 3 mm ReadyX wick. Vapor and flavor are comparable to my Cyclones (which are still the best in my opinion). To be honest I snagged it because it's such on odd piece. Very different from a standard dripper with it's hexagonal shape and the top down airflow. I was really pleased to get it performing well so I could show it off.

The Aromamizer RTDA however, is an absolute dream.

That sucks, I was going to order the velocity deck but never got around to it

So, i was complaining about lack if density before, and somehow thought it was due to my lack of experience in building dual coils with ni200. Guess it was not..although you guys (and girl!:) )said it before, i just didn't bother to give it more thought, but once i lined my air holes with coils..there it is, the density :D took a while, but now I'm a happy camper:)
A bit unfortunate design flaw, if you ask me, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who wasn't that satisfied with results. Its an easy fix, but something i never had to deal with before.
So if anyone reading this still unhappy with performance, try and turn the tank untill you see the coils..it really does make a huge difference ;)

I ended up getting the 3mm id Clapton coils in the aromamizer. They are 26g with 32g wrapped around it. 5 wraps came out to .3 ohms and its chugging great at 90-100 watts.

I was happy with the Clapton's 2.5mm id at 70 watts but this 3mm id setup is amazing. It's really chugging thru juice now but whatever I make my own.

I will say this, getting those coils in there was a PITA. First time they got caught and destroyed one of them when I tightened the tank down. They have to be dead center of the deck to work but so far I'm really impressed

Could you share a picture? I've got 2mm ID, 4 wrap, 32/26 Claptons in mine centered and high. They're pretty snug in there.
