Dumb question time. How is this different from Orchids, or Kayfuns? Ultimately I wanted a tank with a dedicated RBA, no replaceable factory coils.
I can't compare the orchids, but I can compare it to a Goliath v1 and v2 and my kayfun for you. The wicking first and foremost is just nuts. The only dry hit I got off this was user error as I didn't have long enough cotton tails on one of the coils. With the same build in both goliaths, .3 dual 24g coils, I can take about 1.5 long pulls before I need to give it a sec to wick some juice. The Aromamizer, I can just literally chain vape till it's empty. It's just nuts.

However, I prefer the actual vape quality off my goliaths, especially the Goliath v2. Much warmer and much better flavor, IMO. I actually would stick to my Goliath v2 if it wasn't the worst PITA ever created to take apart and refill. Seriously, it's HORRIBLE. This Aromamizer, popping the deck off to refill is a dream. So where the Gv2 shines with vape quality, I prefer the usability of the Aromamizer.

Now, here's what I hate about the Aromamizer: the airflow holes don't line up with the coils when it's screwed together, as others have said. And, at least my particular unit, the airflow holes are almost facing the negative posts. I really makes ZERO sense. I tried Roxy's suggestion of marking the deck and building the coils that way, but even then, it's impossible (on my device) to get the coils to cooperate as they're almost facing the negative posts (looking in the airflow holes, i can see half of a cotton tail and half a negative post). What I do, is unscrew the RBA section a little bit so it'll better align with the airflow holes, and that works well.

As far as my Kayfun? That thing can go in the trash as far as I'm concerned. Lol. I think you'll love this Aromamizer. If when the Goliath v2 comes out, and Youde fixed the base screwing functionality, the Goliath v2 would win, IMO, hands down. The vape quality off that is incredible.

The Orchids aren't bad. I only had a v3 so that's all I can comment on. With the v3, filling was kind of a pain. Plastic tank. No adjustability on airflow. Couldn't access the deck. But, they're cheap and work.

The Kayfuns are single coil, reduced air flavor attys, and not great ones IMO. Several similar attys have better flavor. The Lemo is cheap and kills the Kayfuns, for example.

Some dual coil tanks you might also consider: Aqua v2 is a flavor monster. Cthulhu has a lot of air and is easy to live with. The Billow v2 seems popular.

I'M all in with the Aromamizer, I can't buy a whole lot of extra tanks. I basically have a MutationX V3, couple Subtank Minis, and an Aerotank. Each has a role, but I'm hoping this will fill a couple roles, replacing my Mutation and the need for dripping while supplementing or replacing the Subtank with RBA for all day at work. The aero lives on a baby iStick for stealth and or back up.

I hope this thing rocks.

Has anyone tried The Steam Crave RDTA. Im thinking of buying one
Is there any dry hits? How much better is it from a regular sub ohm tank ?

Did you read through the last couple of pages. A few of us have received ours.

I'm pretty impressed by the service provided by Steam Crave. I had a problem with my unit, sent an email on Thursday/Friday and they shipped the replacement out on Friday with a delivery date of Monday. Super fast shipping from Hong Kong. Gotta love it.

What problem were you having with it?

Just a heads up. I contacted Maggie from SteamCrave. I was just curious about the airflow holes not lining up with the coils and if it was intended to be designed like that. She said that it was intentional and that it doesn't matter where the airflow holes are in relation to the coils, because the airflow comes in from 4 different directions. I don't really agree with that, as when I unscrew the building base a bit to better align the coils in front of the airflow holes, it's a much better vape versus the air hitting cotton tails/negative posts. But I'd just thought id share the response with y'all if you were curious.

how does the steamcrave RDTA stack up against the Billow v2 for wicking and building on?

I obviously can't speak from personal experience, but the fact it looks fairly straight forward and hard to mess up on the wicking side was a big seller to me.

Not that i consider myself a "bad" builder by any means, but i'm still tooting away on my Lemo Drop here (as somebody who mostly drips whenever i can and loves a fair bit of airflow) due to my preference to stay away from "the tank works great............if you get the wicking juuussst right" scene. Which in terms of RTAs made exclusively for rebuilding seems to be pretty much everything coming out these days.

If i can pull my cotton and do a reasonable rewick in under 2 minutes, and then immediately leave the house feeling reasonably confident that it is not going to need any tinkering..........that will be an epic win for me.

Sounds like this is exactly what you need then!
