So i tried quads for two days, and was just not working for me. Mine where 2.5mm 28g 6 wraps, and i was getting dry hits/ muted flavor at 40 to 55 watts. It was probably my lack of coil building skills. I went to a dual 3mm 28g nickel 8 wrap coils. With two air hole closed, flavor is amazing at 50 watts and 470 degrees. Much better than the quads.

Hope you enjoy your new build :)

I think I wrapped all 4 of my coils lefthanded. I always do unless I can't (2 post with one post raised).

I spun my wire and wrapped the coils but vapemail arrived with a backup Kennedy Competition deck. I felt obliged to check the deck for manufacturing defects and put the freshly built triple twisted coil on it. I ended up cleaning and re-wicking the Steam Crave. Quads live another few more days...

Sounds pretty good... wish you shared that earlier :(

Well, I've vaped half the tank now. The Origenny v2 makes a lot of vapor with a single mesh wick, but still seems light on flavor. However, that could be the juice, too. Its a new juice for me, and I haven't tried it in anything else yet. Its ITC Spoonlicker. I tend to try cheap juice with new attys/builds if I'm uncertain how it might go. So I need to try this juice in another atty, and maybe try a different juice in this atty before I can truly evaluate it. And, being inexperienced with gennys, this may not be an optimal build. For once though I did watch a video and used a build that was well regarded. Nearly always I just create my own build.
Hello Ms. Noodle :D I was looking for a review and happened upon your thread. I agree with you with the Origenny single mesh wick. I changed out my deck for dual coils no mesh and pure rayon and threw some custardy juice in it and it is literally like night and day :D I'm sure it's not as good as a quad coil Aromamizer, but insane in a smaller way :) Since your the queen of vertical coils I thought I would mention it :D Take care mam :D

I'll try that next, thanks :)

I didn't know I was the queen of verticals :D At least not until I decided to put 4 of them in something, lol!

So after reading through this thread and wondering how in the hell you guys are fitting the builds in there I saw this picture. Is it possible I got a smaller deck than normal? These are 2.5mm coils and just barely fit. Earlier I had a problem where the coil was touching the chimney.

If your referring to the pictures I posted, the coil on the left is a triple twisted 10 wrap coil with a 2.5mm ID. That coil is mounted on a Kennedy RDA deck and recommended by @V43L1N a few posts ago. The deck on the right is the RTDA. When you build on this deck with more coil wraps, you should consider using the grub screws that came with the atty and also raise the coils up above the screw posts so they line up with the airholes. That coil position has worked for a lot of the users here for better flavor. There is only one type of deck for the Steam Crave and it is the smaller one on the right.

I posted pictures of my build. I might need to use the grub screws. The coils are perfectly lined up with the air holes but they are so close to the chimney it's worrisome. This is the smallest deck I have ever encountered. I can't avoid dry hits either. I have tried 4 different wicks today. I just finished up some vertical coils with the wicks just barelyyyyy sitting on the deck in the hopes that'll help the flow.

Those appear larger to me then 2.5mm. I would have guessed 3.0mm.

Steam Crave has the 2-hole vape bands for sale on their site now.

It will be interesting to see how quickly they crank out the new velocity style build deck. I'll be a buyer.

Nice update. They have added the 3ml and 6ml cap options.. love it. Fast response to customer suggestions.

Saw that, too. May pick up a 3ml one so I can convert between sizes.

I'm also thinking about another cap, band, and deck... or another RDTA. Steam Crave's responsiveness to customer's suggestions is so fast that they may come up with a new airflow ring next month and I'd have to buy that one. Decisions decisions...

The aromamizer deck is huge. Since my quads missed out on the 9 wrap, triple twisted 28G at 2.5mm that went into the Kennedy, I decided to squeeze this one in. Clapton 8 wraps at 2.5mm. This one is better in flavor than my previous quad build. IMHO.

What's the resistance of that build? How many watts are you running? How high have you pushed it?
