Aromamizer RDTA by Steam Crave

The "leaking" through the air holes is not unknown and has been mentioned from the early stages of this thread. Happens to some, but not all. Accumulation of juice/condensation in the coil chamber draining out is the attributed cause when laying it on its side.

OK, thanks. Sorry, didn't wanna go through 139 pages reading everything. :|

Oh, it'll only take and hour or two to read it all… At least that's what I was told before I spent two days reading it from start to when I ordered mine.
I'm planning on ordering the black one - maybe even two, another stainless to match the first - when the vape budget coffers fill up again.

Don't shoot me for saying this, but for those that love the Aromamiser and are considering buying several more, I'd really recommend trying the Youde Bellus.

I've got both, and really like both, but the Bellus is a nose ahead IMO.
Why, themz is fightin' words… ;)
Seen a lot of positive talk about the Bellus. Might have to give it a try, down the road a bit.. Like the top-fill feature.
Still, I think I'll add a 'Mizer or two to the collection first before shopping for another RTA. Still cutting my building teeth on this one. :)

Aromamiser has more airflow and is also better for over 70w, but does not do well under 40w. Wicking is probably the easiest of any RTA I've owned. I'm still not convinced by the airflow holes aimed at the deck posts on most of these, and I'd say overall flavour is average.

Bellus, a little harder to get the wicking right, but not hard. Top fill works great. Plenty of airflow for my use (and others have found expanding the airflow inlets simple). Better and more direct airflow control. Wicks great. Flavour is excellent. Does have limited space for larger coils.

I gotta say, this fused clapton build is kicking it. 36K1/28N80x2 on a 2.5mm bit. Delicious. I've since trimmed the tops a little more to prevent the browning, but the flavor is on point.

I am a little late to the party I am afraid. Better late then never. I have been using my Crius V3 for a while and hadn't felt the need to try anything except the Griffin. I finally broke down and bought the Aromamizer. I didn't want to at first because it wasn't top fill. This thing was very easy to do a build on. I got 2 24G hive coils on it right now. I had a nasty wick taste at first but got it worked out. I really hate that I have been missing out. I think I have something to retire the Crius to the classifieds. I get much better flavor and clouds on this guy. I got the 6ml so I have more juice capacity now.

If you are seeing plenty of juice in the well but still getting burny hits I'm guessing you just don't have enough wicking density in the coil. If you can pull the wick through the coil from one side without deforming the coil you are underwicked. Well, that applies to coils built with 28g or smaller Kanthal wire.

Get your cotton or Rayon rolled into a snake and rolled down to a needle tip on one end. Insert the tip through the coil and grab it with one hand. With the other hand grab the other side of the wick and pull the wick from both ends while sliding the wick through the coil. It should still have some resistance when sliding through the coil. Once you get the wick into position test for wick wiggle. When wiggling one end of the wick the other end should not move, AT ALL.

Cut the wick tails just long enough to lay over the juice channels.

Step 3: :vapor::vapor::vapor:

I've sorted out the wicking thanks for the help. I've put more cotton into each coil and it's working great. Only this I was going to ask was about browning on the top of the cotton on the vertical coils is there anything I can do to stop it?

You can cut it very short which will reduce but not stop the browning. No more than the top of the posts.

Wicking with rayon and trimming the tails short will help but nothing will stop it from happening entirely.

I have been chain vaping at 80 watts :vapor::vapor: and have burned through 18ml pretty quick. I set off the smoke alarm a few times today. This thing is a fog monster :thumb: I couldn't begin to chain vape the Griffin at 60 watts let alone 80 watts. The Cruis I could chain vape but it doesn't produce half the clouds this Aromamizer does. I still have a Wotofo Serpent coming but as of right now this is by far the best dual could rta I have tried. I may have to order a black one as well. This Aromamizer keeps blowing my mind in the short half day I have owned it. I am so glad I decided to try this one. Can't wait for a top fill version. I was watching some of the reviewers best of 2015 and seems like on TVC all the guys but one had the Griffin listed as #1 and I own both and the Griffin isn't close. I think Suck My Mod had this as his #1 and I know Rip did as well.

Right? Me too. Flavor and vapor density is better than all my other tanks eg Billow, Billow V2, Lemo, Crius V2, Goliath V2, STminis blah blah blah, but the thing that really shines with the Aromamizer imo is it's unrivaled consistency in juice flow. All the others change wildly in juice flow rates as the tank moves from full to empty where the Mizer is only a little lean when full. Once I get past the first 10 vapes or so the tank meters juice flow accurately to very near empty. This works out great because I'm not getting dryish hits one minute and spitting hot floody hits the next. One of the best tank systems on the market today.

In addition, I hope they DON'T incorporate a top fill on the V2 next summer. This is easy to fill with a needle tip bottle. Top fill tanks also either require a closeable juice control or heavier juice channel wicking to stop leakage while filling. I don't want the Mizer to be more complicated or flow less juice so my vote is NO on that.

The AFC needs some work. I'd like to see a metal AFC ring with tight-ish friction orings. Also, a 6 hole ring would be sweet so that we can select between 2-hole and 4-hole settings.

The deck should be indexed as well, Bellus Style. But why stop there, why not put 4 grooves into the base so the deck can be indexed for direct or indirect airflow?

I have to agree with you @cigatron on the Aromamizer. It is a great and stable tank working great with TC. I have a black one setup with verticals and a silver one doing horizontals and both are great with flavor and vapor. Using rayon I am now able to completely keep up with juice requirements. No leaking and just a superior tank. The only thing missing is an incorporated airflow control ring and top fill and it would be perfect.

Another tank, and not without its issues but giving great vapor performance for me is the Mutation MT RTA. Even better and more saturated flavor and vapor, but those damn post screws and leaking has been a problem for me. I am awaiting grub screws and will work on more dense wicking. Despite those issues, it is a monster juice sucker and works well with TC once you take care of build issues. I am hitting that with a 140w preheat and 90w with a 24ga 6.5 wrap Ti build on your signature 6-32 screw. That coil size, as you have stated many times, seems to work on just about everything with many types of wire.
It is now my standard go to coil size. :toast: Cheers!

Wanted one of these but

I wrote that tank off for three reasons which I don't recall now but spotted them by watching this review

One was the issue of condensation leaking into my mods 510 due to the AFC o ring being at the top and not the bottom

Been there with the Zephyrus v1

hi guy s
fully agree with that ! I have a hole box full of attys and tanks all retired !
never tried the crius and don't even want to . top fill ..why ? just turn around and pretend that's the top ! no juice flow to shut off and sooo easy to fill . no more rewicking to get " just right " it allways wicks perfect , no matter what coils I try .
vaping single coils now with no problems . the vape band is the only thing I don't like , so a little strip of metal tape takes care of that . just punch a single hole . have 4 now and thanking roxynoodle every day thank you for starting this sthread.
air flow is perfect for me to , exept the mechanics of the design . hail metal tape .
u all have a happy new year !
