Limited edition nippleless Aromamizer RDTAs are on sale at steam crave:

Now Chase for Flavor! - Steam Crave, Aromamizer, Squonk

Going to grab one of these and a friction fit widebore tip from cherry vapes to go in there. I vape my aromamizer at like 120 watts so that top cap gets kinda hot.

What coil and wicking technique?

I get dry hits after 3 or so puffs at anyhting close to 50+

While I like the Aromamizer I haven't found the magic wicking setup to keep up with my chain vaping and temp control while interesting is just too cool of a vape.

I'm starting to think something like the Haze Clone of the GeekVape Avacado is going to suit my needs better

22 gauge kanthal, 3mm ID, 6 wrap horizontal coils. Wicked with rayon so that the ends of the wick just cover the wicking holes. More than anything I think the rayon is the key. I can never get cotton to keep up with high wattages.

You don't have to have cold vapor with tc.

The people that say you have to set your temp at 420F need to keep their dogma/opinions to themselves.

I run at 470 to 520 F depending on what juice I'm using and what it tastes good at.

TC done right is all about having that perfect flavor every time you puff. If you avoid dry hits as well, that's a nice bonus.

I can control my flavor wwell enough manually I was hoping for magic of getting that flavor and being able to hit it till i'm blue in the face and not get dry, but I get the feeling my preferred "flavor temp" is much hotter than cotton burns.

I'm going to give rayon a try in the aromamizer otherwise I think the Avacado is about perfect for me. Tilt and vape like a mad man.

I like my vape hot and dense, almost like you're waterboarding yourself. Mmmmmmm

Me too, just not the waterboarding thing... Ever actually try that? Even though I knew exactly what to expect it still sucked. and choked. and puked. Not a very good time.

Too bad they don't sell just that top cap. 50.00 is too pricey for what amounts to someone sawing off the top of the thing.

rewicked last night from vertical to horizontal. using the smaller aromamizer.

-24 gauge kanthal
-2.5 mm 9 wraps
-high 0.3 ohms close to 0.4 ohms
-tight fit on the cotton spin it as you pull it through and then spin it a few times to loosen just a touch before you cut
-cut the wick at the edge of the atty base
-fluff it out then tuck in there trying to leave space under the coil while spreading it over the entire base as best you can
-using 80/20 juice
-all 4 holes open to mimic an RDA air flow
-65 watts
a solid 1 or 2 second tug on it with gusto - do not tootle puff it needs to be a good hard toot
zero issues in 3 tanks

aggressive style of draw on this for a few reasons. I don't think you get good juice flow on thick juice unless you up the ante and help pull it through the holes. I sat down and chain vaped 3 tanks like I meant it. Clouded the basement. No dry hits at 65 watts no leaking and good flavor on a mint choco chip ice cream by quit that grit. Not as good a flavor as a 100 watt dripper setup on my other mod but pretty dam close. May not be for all folks because I am taking it deep lung style as if it was a dripper.

I removed the single core 28 gauge claptons and replaced them with 26 gauge NiFe48 contacts. I used only the two lower holes in the posts, doing quite satisfactory. Using it on a rDNA40 @ 40 watts with 360F, put in on a DNA200 and EScribe first to check it's ability.

Hit the "Buy" button on a 4th one this morning...another black one so I'll have 2 of each finish. I blame it on cabin fever because of the snow/ice storm raging outside. We Southerners don't do ice really well.:D
I'm just a little further north, and have had only about 4" of snow, but my "buy it" finger is itching really bad today since my job announced "liberal leave" and i didnt "have" to go into work today lol.

Look at your two AFC bands... One has 4 holes and the other only has two. make a third hole in the two hole band between the existing holes. now that band will act as a two hole or a one hole AFC band. No plugging with sticks, twigs, tape, insects or small childrens fingers.

GREAT idea. Why didn't THEY think of that?! :)

Question from first-timer with Clapton wire on the Aromamizer

Being relatively new to rebuilding, I've stuck with simple builds on my Aromamizer, mainly 28 gauge Kanthal dual verticals. I've got vapemail coming today that I ordered some simple 26/32 Clapton wire with. I'm looking for any tips and insights on how to best calculate the wraps and ohms with this wire (I'm using with Steam Engine) and application in the 'Mizer.

Use the Wire Wizard tab on Steam Engine. Select clapton and plug in your information. :)
