So yesterday I finally fried my 1.5 ohm dripless atty from Empire mods. I chain vape and I like low ohms, so getting a couple of weeks from my atty is pretty good from what I have learned.

Plus, I think I am a confirmed dripper, I hardly even look at cartos much.

I am thinking that a rebuildable Atty like a Phoenix clone is the smartest way to do it. This is my dilemma though. I have exclusively Egos. 2 of the three I have are variable in this config:

I am not real crazy about buying another toy just yet (like a VV350) , but I want to try a Phoenix for use on one of these Egos. I have heeded the Rolygate caveat, but how safe is it to have a rebuildable with an Ego?

lets say I measure the Ohms of the coil with a good old old fashion ohm meter, determine its value, is it safe to do this with an ego?

I can get a vv350, and protected circuit batteries(stacked), but then I am seeing disclaimers about stacking batteries and making sure You use a 2 cent fuse.....and on and on....

There was a time when we all lived beyond the perpetual and oft times ambiguous ominous disclaimer.

So I want to dive in, but I really don't fancy the idea of my device detonating whilst I am enjoying the bouquet and flavor profile of "CrazyVapes tooty-fruity surprise"

So when do you just say shuck this oyster and just go for it?

Thanks much!

You could try it. A Mini DID would also look OK on an eGo.

These stepped VV circuits on eGos could be a bit fragile, though. You won't know till you blow one :)

It's a bit safer to use a chunky 3.7v APV that takes an 18650 cell, this has less to go wrong and the battery has the grunt you need to push an LR head properly. If you get the RBA coil wrong then you will probably just collapse the hot spring (in something like a Silver Bullet), which can be pulled out to work again once it's cooled down. It's probably best not to use any kind of device that isn't fused in one way or another.
